Pros
Very exciting place to work
Cons
Sometimes it can get really slow after holidays
Advice to Senior Management
With a minimum of hours if your a part timer you dont get a lot of hours
Pros
It's really exciting when you engage with the customers and feel the excitement they have for the products. Especially when someone comes in with no idea what to buy and you help them pick out the perfect gift, whether it be for themselves or for someone else. Also, every one of the associates are all incredibly friendly and willing to help each other out, so there's never any drama going on. That helps a lot when it comes to floorsets too! They can be a little stressful at times, but when we're all having fun it goes by quickly and the store ends up looking beautiful! :)
Cons
There are a lot of associates, so one week you can have a lot of hours and then the next you can have a small amount. That's only for the beginning/end of seasonal though (Temporary employees).
Pros
Fun, fast paced atmosphere.
Customers are the best for the most part.
Products and the discounts.
Helping people smell good.
Cons
Call ins
not enough hours, if you do get hours you have to work and prove that you are an excellent worker.
Pros
Caring management
Knowledgable managers
Great contests and incentives
Rewards for doing a good job
Free samples of new products
Great district manager
Friendly coworkers
Wonderful training
Fair pay based on experience
Great customer service goals
Sales floor is so much fun- you get paid to just chat with people!
Employee discount
Rewards for working on Black Friday/Christmas Eve/New Years Eve
Cons
A LOT of sales/promotions that you have to know
Many products to be familiar with
Required to work Black Friday
Not a lot of hours for seasonal employees
Advice to Senior Management
I really can't give any advice, the managers at my store were so amazing! They were always on top of the business aspects, but would sit down and chat with you just like a friend!
Pros
Real customer experience
Ability to move up within company
Always new products
Free trial sizes when new products come in
Fun, competitive place to work
Contests and prizes to help associates better themselves
A great "team" feeling within the store
Floorsets are extremely challenging, yet fun, and are another way to pick up hours
Cons
As an associate hours can be hard to come by, the more open your availability and the harder you work, and show that you are a good worker, the more hours you're likely to receive.
Advice to Senior Management
Management was going through a change when I moved up to a Key Holder, but all the managers I came by were great. They were always on the sales floor helping us reach our goal when they would visit. They always gave constructive criticism and also helped make a plan to improve your skills if needed. Keep up the great work.
Pros
Bright, lively, energized environment. Smells wonderful!
Cons
Not enough hours! Management gives excuses for not scheduling more hours.
Advice to Senior Management
Give dedicated employees more hours!
Pros
Decent employee discount, Friendly environment
Cons
Management not responsive to various inquiries, few scheduled hours
Advice to Senior Management
When asked in an interview how many hours to expect to be given each week, don't lie.
Pros
Great place to learn customer service skills. Good discounts for employees.
Cons
Minimum Wage wasn't sufficient enough for all the hours I worked.
Advice to Senior Management
My manager was great.
Pros
Access to great products, Good discount 30% that extends to other stores in the Limited Brand. Victoria Secret, The Limited, etc. Pleasant decor and atmosphere.
Cons
Constant coaching can be a bit discouraging. Your suppose to have coaching moments several times a day with your Manager, to motivate you and show where you can improve. It can come across negatively if not done correctly. Demonstrating product can be a turn off to both customers and employees. A regular shift would usually be just one or two associates and a manager, which could be a little dull.
Pros
Easy to request time off
Convenient online scheduling
The chance to become close to regular customers
Occasional gratis (free stuff)
Flexibility with coupons
Cons
Poorly trained management
Managers never offer praise
Managers punish you for small mistakes
All of the hours went to managers and sales leads
I was never allowed breaks, even after 8 hour shifts
Coworkers were catty
Management played favorites
I wasn't treated like a human being.
Advice to Senior Management
Stop playing favorites and hiring new girls when you already have some who BEG for hours. Take notice of the positives as well as negatives. Stop sitting around and barking orders; the store's success starts with you, not how well your lackeys will carry out the tough stuff.
