I have been working at Bausch & Lomb full-time (more than 5 years)

    Pros

    Good benefits package, global exposure

    Cons

Recent sale leaves too many unknowns, poor integration of different locations, stereotypical communication from upper management (Dilbert, anyone?)

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

More honesty and open communication. We find out moreof what is going on with the company in the lical paper then we do from our own senior management

I have been working at Bausch & Lomb full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

My co-workers are some of the best people I have worked with.
Great benefits and perks for all (stocked kitchen all free)
Training paid through HR dept not your local department
    Good exposure to customers
Lots of opportunities to improve in your profession

    Cons

Promotions and raises based highly upon who you know not what you know
Very dysfunctional management due to politics and personal power struggles
Making schedule milestones more important than product quality
Product recalls are just work as usual
Takeover by Valeant makes the focus on bottom line profits not the customer

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Be prepared to leave when interest rates go up and new products do not materialize as planned. Valeants M&S scheme will implode and more layoffs will occur.

    Pros

I love working at Bausch and Lomb. Fantastic company that is committed to making a difference. Culture nurtures creative input and solutions. Freedom to address issues with an end goal in mind. No micro managing. Great benefits, people, company.

    Cons

Sometimes, the politics that goes on can impede progress and enthusiasm.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Be open and honest about upper level meetings and their outcomes as it relates to IT doing its job.

I worked at Bausch & Lomb as an intern (less than a year)

    Pros

After a long period of stagnancy they are working on innovation and driving the company forward.
CPG side is doing really well.

    Cons

There is a lot of shuffling around of upper management.
A lot of older employees are resisting change which creates a conflict with what they are trying to do.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

You are a younger, leaner organization now. Be more accesible to your employees.

I worked at Bausch & Lomb as an intern (less than a year)

    Pros

It is a fantastic atmosphere! The people are truly willing to help you out in any way possible. The work that I did required me to critically think and I got to make most of my own decisions and do things how I wanted to do them. I would meet with my Manager weekly to update him to make sure I was on the right track. They also have a full cafeteria for lunches and host events for employees!

    Cons

Once you are in a division within the company, it appears to be difficult to move around to other divisions unless you really push for it. You will typically be just with your division, which can be a fairly large amount of people, but the opportunity to meet other people from different divisions didn't seem very high to me. I did get to meet a few people from other areas of the company, but I did that with m own initiative, not through any company sanctioned event.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Give your employees the best and most updated equipment that you can get! Try to create a standard with this equipment too. For example, everyone within Finance and Procurement should be using Excel 2010 and should get a training seminar or something in it to help them out, or at least some useful online material to help them learn it.

    Pros

    International
    Dynamic
    Closed to the business
Sells are going fairly but competition is high so pressure is coming everywhere

    Cons

It belongs to a private equity and soon will be sold, unsecurity on longer term
It is looking a lot to the costs and not much into the revenues

    Recommends
    Negative Outlook
    Approves of CEO
