    I worked at Baxter full-time

    Pros

Can be fun at times, pay and benefits package is very competitive. Relaxed dress code.

    Cons

Company decisions ordered from home office are not in touch with the reality of the work flow and common practices. Outsourcing studies to find more "efficient" ways to save money tends to backfire in the long run, a lesson that Baxter fails to learn over and over. High turnover of employees.

    Advice to Management

Listen to your grunts. They know best.

    Pros

Can't think of a single pro for being a contractor at Baxter.

    Cons

No PTO, contractors are told to not ask questions, no one has any real career ambitions here. Be prepared to be mistreated.

    Pros

Easy work. Plant is close to home.

    Cons

Old school technology, culture, and idealogy

    Advice to Management

Review and update compensation and benefits. Need to be comparable to what other biotech companies are in the area

    Pros

The employee stock purchase program is very good!! My department allows us to work from home multiple times per week. Also some team members are allowed to work from other Baxter offices if needed to accommodate their schedule.

    Cons

Offices are far north. A lot of employees. It might be easy to get lost in the crowd it is imperative to have a manager/team that's fosters your development.

    Advice to Management

Time to offer some older employees packages to retire!

    Pros

Benefits were great and always looking to standardize work flow. Tries really hard to gain merit in programs, awards, kaizens, etc.

    Cons

A majority of people I knew were great but very immature and takes everything personal. Unwelcoming cliques at work who will bully you if not liked. I'd be friends with some of these people but not work them again. Although I was successful and high performing, I was scrutinized for many things that others were not, even with same cases. Anyway they could knock me down, they did it. Compensation was not great either..

    Advice to Management

people will try and get their way, not matter how it affects the product.. As long as they don't get caught or it keeps getting brushed off, they will keep doing it.

    Pros

Excellent salary for new positions, with large counter-offers accepted!

    Cons

Too many group changes and shifts. Unstable feeling among the employees

    Advice to Management

Less micromanaging and more hands-off guidance. Senior people managers really need people managing experience.

    Pros

Learn the pharma manufacturing industry and have a good schedule. Work stays at work and little is asked of you outside. Room for advancement is promising but remote location makes it less than ideal. Lower end of pay spectrum for the industry.

    Cons

Plenty of arguing between manufacturing and quality.

    Advice to Management

Reward those with the most knowledge of the job, that put in the time to learn it and care about the process and the people.
