I have been working at Bay Path College full-time (more than an year)

    Pros

Energetic team players, caring in the growth of their fellow associates as well as the students. A place where assisting others to utilize their full potential achieving their goals.

    Cons

Helping others seeing that the ultimate goal of education weighs much more than what is going on their immediate life. Helping them to know anything is possible with support an guidance. The out come in achieving the goal of education and improving quality of life, and to have a fighting chance in the work force.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Plan a monthly training on a specific topic being an employer choice but suggestion from staff after training to feel part of company growth in the further educate and growth of employees. This is only to improve, and strengthen staff as part of a team.

I was only hired to do short term media work, so I don't know much about the work environment.

I worked at Bay Path College part-time (less than an year)

    Pros

lovely campus and great food if you eat there

    Cons

When I was hired, many people who had taught there warned me that I would have to cater to the students if I wanted to keep my employment. I took it with a grain of salt, but once I started teaching I realized that they were absolutely correct.. If the students complain, which usually means they are being held to a standard and not just given an A for showing up, the faculty member can pretty much be assured he or she won't be hired to teach another class. While the young women in the class were very nice, they did expect to get top grades. I constantly felt like I had to pander to the students. It was exhausting. I decided I would never teach for them again after one of the students said she had used no citations or source information on a paper she turned in for another class and received a 100 for the work. The note the professor wrote was, "Be sure to cite all outside information as this is plagiarism." So a student gets 100 for plagiarizing a paper? Not the place for me.

Way too many adjunct faculty members

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Hire full-time faculty member for ALL programs and allow them to grade accordingly without punitive measures.

I worked at Bay Path College full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

An attractive campus if you like living in a very, very small town.

    Cons

The faculty have no voice. They hire good people, but once new faculty catch on, they leave. This college is very conservative. The administration preaches "empowerment for women" but that's far from the way they treat their own employees... The president micro manages everything, down to the last blade of grass...

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Get a new president who lives in the 21st century. The 1950s are long gone...

    Pros

Longmeadow is a really nice town and the campus is beautiful

    Cons

No organization, poor leadership, no guidelines for perormance or expectations but they are very quick to pass blame and make their employees feel replaceable, belittled, and miserable. Most employees are actively searching for other employment and the staff rotates every couple of years.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Care about your employees, at least a little
