If you don't want to work here you're nuts

Customer Service Representative (Current Employee) Pittsburgh, PA

ProsLife/ home work balance is fantastic, everyone is repectful to each other. Pretty decent $. You get to know different aspects of all the Bayer Businesses. they have many perks such as discounted meds and products as well as local restaurants.

ConsThey never want to hire contractors even if they work here for 15 years! GIVE them what they deserve!! Head count reductions so an executive can get a bonus

Advice to Senior ManagementA great company!! HIRE the people who work hard for you and give them all the perks of a Bayer person. Get some people who have been here 30 years and don't work hard enough out.

    Not young? Don't bother

    Anonymous Employee (Former Employee)

ProsGreat for young up and comers!
    Company Store
    Benefits.
People in other departments other than management were really great.

Cons25 % of time doing 'training'. True German punishment philosophy.
Lots of false values not really made part of the company. Lots of hype from invisible management.

Advice to Senior ManagementYou don't care about advice, you only issue directives.

Like "Office Space" but with German accents and no humor.

Anonymous Employee (Current Employee) Pittsburgh, PA

ProsIt's difficult to think of any pros, although I guess it depends upon the department. I worked in IT, and the environment was beyond dull.

ConsAll decisions are made in Germany, and people in the US are expected to obey without question. Most people had about 5 bosses, only one of which might be located in the US. If you prefer to leave your brain at home and just do whatever you are told, this is the place for you. If your best strength is kissing up to your boss, you will be on the management fast track.

Cons1) Managers not good decision makers and delegators.
    2) Lot of Procedures need to be followed .
    3) Not able to get good projects for the company.

Its Great, if you are happy making squat for the rest of your life

Anonymous Employee (Current Employee) Pittsburgh, PA

ProsIt is a good company for the most part, great people, and good benefits. I like the fact that they are very open to the work/life balance.

ConsThey hire outside rather than promote within. They don't give you raises or bonuses when they are deserved. The yearly raises suck. They keep untalented employees and keep the talent at the bottom where they build resentment and quit.

Too many procedures that keep us from working effectively and efficiently

Anonymous Employee (Current Employee) Pittsburgh, PA

Prosthe salary and benefits are very good and competitive. the location is idea with walking trails and parking is free.

Consthe management is not supportive enough. too many processes and procedures that keep the employees from working efficiently. Global does not mean Germany.

Advice to Senior ManagementBe more aware of your team and what is really going on. Do our job once in awhile so you can really see what is going on.
