    Pros

Compensation / benefits are very good, flexible schedules are very nice to have. Bayer is very good at promoting from within so advancement is attainable.

    Cons

Company structuring is horrible, matrixing / silos is the fastest way to not being able to accomplish anything. The different silos don't communicate with each other and you don't know who to turn to for leadership.

    Advice to Management

Get rid of the matrix corporate structure, it is inefficient and there is no clear leader

  5. Good learning environment, but don't stay if you're a temp

    Pros

For a temporary employee, It was an excellent learning opportunity. You're given the same job functions and responsibilities as a permanent employee. You will definitely have a leg-up on the competition, if you do decide to go to another company in terms of your experience. The employees are all very friendly and everyone works well as a team to get product out the door.

    Cons

It's very difficult to get a position as a permanent employee. There's a very strict headcount. They will tell you that they're working on getting you a position, but usually nothing comes of it. They also don't have a time limit for how long they can keep a temporary employee, so before you know it, you can be there for several years with nothing to show for it.

    Pros

Bayer is always about the science and making solid products that the public can trust. It's evident in the culture and people who work here.

    Cons

Sometimes they push a little too hard for more sales but do hope their expectations will become more realistic

    Advice to Management

Listen to your front line people. If you hired the right ones, they will be straight with you.

    Pros

During my time at Bayer, I felt I was able to grow in my position. My manager listed to me and where I wanted to go with my career and took all steps necessary to help me get there.

There is a great focus on work-life balance so you do not feel like you're living at your job or feel bad for taking a day off. A work from home option is provided which is great as well.

    Cons

I don't have any cons to list.

    Pros

I liked getting Bayer products at the site store for super cheap. Company ran very well and was organized. Adequate staffing.

    Cons

Benefits were not too great. Compensation was low. Had to leave to get a decent raise. I'm sure there's others.

    Advice to Management

Be more in touch and communicate with employees.

    Pros

Many groups are able to work remotely from home several days a week. There is a good life-work balance from what I can see. Good exposure to senior leadership on a monthly basis.

    Cons

It is difficult to make connections outside of your department which leads to a feeling of stagnation. Managers have the power to put a stop to any promotion growth by citing anything they want on a performance review.

    Advice to Management

Be more transparent in your decision making processes. The rumor mills are continually validated by outside reporting - it would be nice to hear something a day before it is released to the public.
