I have been working at Bayer full-time (more than 5 years)

    Pros

Compensation is fair. Health Benefits, 401(k) match and vacation entitlement are top notch. Many buildings have been recently refurbished to meet LEED standards

    Cons

Tough to climb the corporate ladder. Training and talent retention need to be greatly improved.

I have been working at Bayer full-time (more than an year)

    Pros

Most of the people are great to work with and will share knowledge and experience. Benefits are fantastic.

    Cons

Management is disconnected from the people doing the actual work. They lack understanding of the processes used and challenges faced day to day. Salary is lacking in my division. Other business lines make significantly more, probably because we are not a money making entity therefore not as valuable. Employee development is promised but not delivered. Favoritism is very evident. Poor performers are not held accountable.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Actually sit down with your employees and learn their job. A better understanding will benefit all. Deliver on promises or do not make them.

I have been working at Bayer as a contractor (more than an year)

    Pros

The department I work in is very laid back and everyone is very nice.

    Cons

It may be just the department I work in but they bring you in as a contractor/temp and continue to give you more and more work but never actually hire you as a permanent employee. I know many contractors that work there and some have been contractors for 25+ years never being offered a permanent position.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Hire your hard working contractors
