more employee input is needed. they are the ones doing the work to keep your business running
Pros
Gain exposure to a purely R&D company.
Work with people of younger age groups, mostly recent graduates
Cons
Full time graduates perform exactly the same work as a co-op except they get paid slightly more. I was there for 4 months, and the turnover rate was extremely high. About 4 people left in office of about 25 people.
Advice to Senior Management
Provide some career advancement for employees
Encourage work and life balance
Provide better working conditions such as a newer lab with better equipment
Pros
If you want to thread your own path, it is possible with they style of leadership at Baylis.
There are lots of opportunities of professional and personal growth, but you have to seize them.
There is some traveling that could be fun.
Some very bright individuals work at Baylis, which makes for a good challenging environment that provides continual technical growth.
Cons
Severe lack of compensation - both salary and benefits.
Such a flat structure that there is a limitation on your movement in the company.
Worked like a horse with little appreciation or recognition. In fact, it is so bad that leaders in the company don't believe in recognizing good work.
Advice to Senior Management
The leaders are getting what they want out of the people. They don't need any input, it's the employees that need input.
Pros

-Friendly staff
-Excellent opportunity to develop transferable skills relating to project management.
-One of few medical device companies in GTA
Cons
-Salary is below what is reasonable. Especially considering amount of extra hours that will need to be put in.
-Although this is a relatively small company, the right hand doesn't know what the left is doing.
-Very little technical depth of knowledge obtained from this job
-Very high turnover
Advice to Senior Management
