    Quick training, simple job

Front Desk Clerk (Current Employee) Conroe, TX

ProsThe training is pretty quick, which is good because during training you get paid minimum wage. The job is simple there is just a lot of information to learn, so you are always learning.
It is a friendly work environment and goes smoothly as long as everyone communicates. It is a great job for a college student.

ConsThere always seems to be some kind of drama with guests, but that is with any hotel.
There are a lot of things you do per customer basis. Like negotiating rates and knowing what is the lowest rate you can give that day. If you aren't a salesperson or a good negotiator this won't work for you.

Yes, I would recommend this company to a friend – I'm optimistic about the outlook for this company

    Sitting around in mediocrity

Front Desk Clerk (Former Employee) Van Cleve, IA

ProsEasy job where you get to sit on your butt and do whatever you want most of the time without being bothered.

ConsIrate customers, incompetent management, no paid vacation or benefits, paid poorly, treated like dirt, called to work when you are supposed to be off, no consistent schedule, etc etc.

Advice to Senior ManagementGet it together. Paid vacation after a week would be a start. Pay employees a decent wage and don't treat them like any idiot could do the job, even though that's teh truth.

No, I would not recommend this company to a friend

My experience with the hotel is very different but in a good way.

    Housekeeper (Current Employee) Henderson, NC

ProsI liked the Baymont for reasons such as its well maintained.

ConsThere are no downsides to this hotel.

    Great Company Bad Franchise's owners

Night Audit (Current Employee) Hattiesburg, MS

ProsFree Breakfast, Great Workers, Very Nice Guest, great company (Global wise), Great discount with hotels.

ConsBad management, Bad owners, Micro Mgt, No room for growth, bad pay,

Advice to Senior ManagementIf you say your going to give a rise after 4 months do that, STOP MICRO MANAGING, pay for overtime, pay for holiday pay, offer health care for full time employees, HAVE MANAGERS DO THEIR JOB AND NOT THE FRONT DESK WORKERS! If you all could do that you would be a great company because you have so much potential just very bad management.

No, I would not recommend this company to a friend
