I have been working at Bayview Loan Servicing

    Pros

A continuous and relentless pursuit of excellence. Leadership continuously seeks input from the floor, consumer outreach and regulators to ensure it aways improves how loans are serviced. Bayview's workforce is committed to excellence and its impressive to see how much dedication they have to getting things right.
Bayview has a very diverse workforce that spans multiple cities across the U.S.

    Cons

The industry is continuously evolving. This is a good thing. But as with any changing landscape, it takes significant effort. This company and similar companies demand excellence and committed individuals. It isn't for everyone, but if you are among those that don't settle for mediocre this is the right place for you.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Continue your relentless pursuit for excellence in servicing.

I have been working at Bayview Loan Servicing full-time

    Pros

The ability to make a decent salary if the bonus structure don't change! Oops spoke too soon.

    Cons

This company has the most unprofessional, unrealistic inexperience dishonest set of people. Favoritism happens all the time. If they like you and you don't produce they will move you around to keep you. But if you're a producer and know too much they will try anything to let you go!

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Need more experienced professional personnel from the top down including HR! HR plays favoritism as well!

I worked at Bayview Loan Servicing full-time (more than a year)

    Pros

Bayview is very generous in working with employees for time off required for Dr. Appointments etc. Competitive salaries. Great benefits. Additional training classes offered onsight.

    Cons

Depending on what position you work in, daily schedule and priorities can change rapidly. Some departments are managed better than others. If you leave, you are not eligible for re-hire.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Sometimes people take a chance to try and advance their careers. Those chances taken don't always work out positively. I think it would be advantageous to consider re-hiring or keeping people in a position that they worked in previously.

I have been working at Bayview Loan Servicing

    Pros

Good benefits, flex schedule, good pay available.

    Cons

Management is way too inconsistent and they have done a lot of changes that impacts heavily people's income in the form of bonuses. There is no stability, you can be there for 1 year and the next day, you are gone. Management behave like this is social time or happy hour and any chance they can get to write you up, they will. Unless, you are in the "click" going out to lunches together or spending the weekends at each other's houses. If you do this, you will get promoted.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Senior management, paying more attention to what managers are doing, as some of them work part time hours with full time pay.

I have been working at Bayview Loan Servicing full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

Newer computers, Good Benefits, Great HR department, Bayview provides nice breakroom with all the coffee you can drink. Nice new building.

    Cons

Managers don't communicate with the coordinators what is going on in the department. Changes in procedure don't get shared. There is no room for promotion. No raises to employees that are overdue for a raise. Some managers consistently leave early and take many breaks throughout the day. Supervisors micromanage and are out of touch with the procedures. Often the supervisor will say "read the manual" instead of helping.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Get rid of some of the lame managers and supervisors. Make the managers clock in to avoid abuse. Give raises and promote within. Review Nepotism policy and try to fix it. Review email and identify employees that misspell and do not write complete sentences. Enforce a policy to stop employees from selling raffle tickets and chocolate candy bars for their children's fundraisers on company time.

I have been working at Bayview Loan Servicing full-time (more than 10 years)

    Pros

Bayview is a dynamic and fast paced organization. They offer great benefits and a competitive salary structure. They also believe in a work/life balance. They stay ahead of the curve by creating differnet areas of business depending on the market needs.

    Cons

The constant change (which is necessary) can sometimes be difficult for people who are not accustomed to it. This is not an issue if you are easily adaptable.

I have been working at Bayview Loan Servicing full-time (more than a year)

    Pros

Merit based pay structure. Bayview has a true "open door" policy where the managing director is open to new ideas and concerns. Bayview is not an environment that ordinarily has micro-managing, which is nice to have your own methods to achieving goals; however, the expectation that you are able to take care of your job functions and responsibilities are high. Responsibility is great to have, and many companies are very hesitant to give that out.

    Cons

Disorganization at times, though that is improving daily. Synergy between some departments can be better, but that is a change in overall philosophy that takes time.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Continue to spend most of the time and efforts in developing the top 5-10 percent of the staff. The rule of spending 90 percent of your time with the top 10 percent of the department holds well for the company and the staff. Obviously, the exact number cannot be attained, but the philosophy is great. Weed out anyone who is not contributing, because that means they are dragging the forward movement of the company down. Look within the company before external hires are made for leadership as some employees look for upward movement more than any other selling point when coming on board with you. The company values of Bayview are great and are truly appreciated. Thank you for compensating well for performers and taking more than the usual time to take care of your employees.

I have been working at Bayview Loan Servicing full-time (more than 10 years)

    Pros

At Bayview, you are treated with respect. There is plenty of opportunity to advance. They have a casual dress code, clean and safe work enviornment, competitive pay, a good benefits program and they have many events for the employees and you have your choice of what you want to participate in. There are also great employee discounts available that include family related discounts. They also have a good training program and many managers that are great mentors. In addition you get to help the customers remain in their homes or businesses.

    Cons

One of the greatest challenges is motivating the customers and trying to get them to understand you are there to help them and not just trying to collect a debt. More training in controlling conversations and how to sell the program without pushing would be good. The more training on how to deal with the customers and give the best experience would be beneficial.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

I would encourage upper management to be seen. Walk around once in a while and see what we are doing and speak to us. Town hall meetings with managers so we can ask questions we might have would be good as well. Maybe a lunch with the boss type program with a small number of people and upper management in a casual lunch setting, say 10 employees to one upper manager. Some managers make themselves available whenever help is needed and the employees are always appreciative. Foster that idea. They wouldn't ask for help if we didn't feel we needed it.
