    Pros

Fast moving, good HR policies, cool market position and product. Probably safest/best if you're a developer/data analyst. Much better fit and potential for growth if you're coming straight out of school or it's your second job. Mind-blowingly awesome culture if you want to live/work/play with the same group of folks.

    Cons

Not so much fun after the kool-aid wears off.
Schizophrenic management, driven by, and limited in vision to, monthly goals (if that). Proficiency is rewarded by increased demand without clear priorities.
They could really benefit from a stable management structure and goals for employees to chart their course or make priority decisions that DON'T change every week. Workplace success is built more on responsiveness to the latest whim of upper management than any coherent plan or actual strategy/alignment with corporate goals.

    Advice to Management

You've heard this in every employee survey and failed to act for the last 5 years, but I'll repeat it. There is zero alignment of corporate goals with departmental/individual goals, virtually no guidance for employees, and management in the classic sense of nurturing and developing talent is non-existent.

    Pros

Company is always hiring (or backfilling) so there are good opportunities for people breaking into the workforce at the entry-level. No stated vacation policy. International opportunities. Working with premier brands.

    Cons

Hubris and group-think have suffocated the company. Turnover remains rampant across the organization regardless of role, seniority or function. Innovation, culture and client reputation have all suffered as a result. For prospective employees, it's worth doing your due-diligence on why the role is open and career path. By now, the company should have matured at least a bit. Doubling down on the reviews product simply won't deliver the growth expectations. Aimless.

    Advice to Management

    Stay positive

A good company that's lost its way...

    Pros

    - Smart, dedicated people that work very hard to deliver for customers in a very challenging environment.

    Cons

    - An arrogant, deceptive, and sometimes vindictive, senior leadership team, particularly within Sales. Promotions are given out based on who you know, not what you know. Sales leaders keep their jobs, or get promoted, even when they can't hit their quotas.
    - Poor leadership is directly contributing to incredibly high attrition. For a company that used to promote the strength of its culture, it sure has lost its way. People are leaving by the carload because this company has no vision or direction. It's in a completely reactive mode after it lost the DOJ case and has failed to articulate a plan for how they intend to change it.
    - Tired, worn out products. I don't know how a company can expect to stay in business when it's selling the same stuff it sold 5 years ago, particularly in the SaaS space.
    - This leadership team, particularly within HR, has no interest in developing its employees. It recruits to fill specific needs and spends precious little time helping people grow.
    - There is a telling lack of diversity at BV, especially in Sales, and it is only a superficial reflection of how the leadership team operates. It believes that its smarter than everyone else; that its point of view is the only valid interpretation of data and, therefore, requires no additional perspective. It is, largely, a middle-aged, white male leadership team with precious few females and you have to go pretty deep in the org chart before you find a person of color in a leadership role.

    Advice to Management

I don't think there is any advice that this leadership team would respect. However, one truth stands out; your greatest asset isn't your data, it's your employees. They're leaving in droves and they're not moving towards something better, they're running away from your company. Start focusing on them more...

    Pros

    No drug screens - ever!
Nobody care about entertainment expenses if you're in sales
    Fraternization overlooked
    Alcohol at work

    Cons

    Frat boy culture
    Backstabbing
    Lies
    3 CEOs in one year
    Company lies to customers
Department leaders blame direct reports for failures and fire at will
    Government lawsuit

As a newcomer to the comany I was shocked to hear about the ongoing lawsuit with the government, with the open flirtation at work and the badmouthing of customers. Sales in particular cares about commissions and senior leadership approves and supports the high pressure tactics used.

The company has many large customers yet there are no drug screens conducted ever. Every office I've been to has alcohol freely available and there's been countless instances of encounters with people who appeared to be...thinking they live in Colorado if you know what I mean. The Austin office has kegs that people empty at rapid speeds while working, New York has game nights at the office with a heavy pressure to partake in drinking. San Fran is not much better than New York.

I have nothing good to say about this company. The sales team rack up outrageous travel and entertainment expenses but all other departments have to justify every penny. People are rude, sexist and backstabbing. There is a lot of pressure to partake in drinking games at work.

Selling is priority number one, regardless of what the customers want or need. And because of the high turnover development are so behind that commitments are not honored and new customers receive preference over existing ones. This is one of the most poorly led and dollar greedy companies I have ever worked for and I am happy to see that many customers and employees are jumping ship. If you expecct integrity don't work here or use this company for services.

    Advice to Management

Fire all upper and middle management and sales staff and hire people with integrity who can be trusted.

    Pros

great co-workers, very intelligent people, and fun projects. the last 6 months have been really exciting.

    Cons

some of the original employees struggle with change. in my experience there is always a transition when you go public, and and a evolution to the business. helping people through that and communication would help keep the best people .

    Advice to Management

Help employees with the change management, with all the positive changes there still seems to be a fear factor with some employees.

    Pros

Still in a space where there is not much competition.

    Cons

The CEO is just horrible. He does not like people and is one of the most arrogant people I have ever encountered. This company was great when Brett Hurt was the CEO but Stephen Collins has ruined the culture. While Brett Hurt needed help in many operational areas, he was a motivator and innovator. Stephen Collins is a self serving guy and is a perfect example of who you don't want to be when you reach a position of power. He would walk through the halls and not even acknowledge people below him before he became CEO and was unable to fake it when he took over. No way they can recover from this guy.

    Advice to Management

Beg the founder to come back.

Great people and passion for all those who are in any job that does not have a Director on up title.

    Cons

This company is lost by paying way to much for Directors on Up 6 figures +++ to talk a good hype game for their own benefit but throw all the BST work to those who are trying to see this movement of BV succeed. Sad
