I worked at BearingPoint
Pros – Advancement opportunities for entry level employees
Cons – Came in when company overall financial stability was starting to fail and thus rode out the demise of company til the end.
Advice to Senior Management – Seeing that Bearingpoint is now in bankruptcy there is not much advice to be given on a dead company. I think that the company should have stayed private but then again there were a lot of financial issues and debts owed that outweighed everything else.

Pros – Enjoyed my team, compensation and work environment while at BearingPoint. Had the opportunity to work with great professionals and enjoyable clients.
Cons – Leadership lacked proper vision to enable the firm to prosper. Went through restructuring every six months which constantly distracted from execution.
Advice to Senior Management – At this stage I hope that management can unwind the company with minimal impact on the remaining staff and clients.

I worked at BearingPoint
Pros – Pay was decent
Made some good friends out of the experience
Got experience at a big firm
Was able to learn what I didn't want in a company.
Cons – Management perpetuated double standards, played favorites, and did not support you if issues arose on a project.
Expectations were not communicated, yet employees were reprimanded for not meeting those expectations.
Corporate culture was strange, super-competitive but without the same esteem as competitors.
Extreme use of consultant-speak buzz words like "bandwidth"
Struggle to advance, as I was not one of my manager's "favorites"
Advice to Senior Management – get your act together and recognize that you will continue to have high attrition levels as long as you continue to treat employees this way.

Cons – - Promotions and reviews were anything but transparent
- Politics like its Capitol Hill!

I worked at BearingPoint
Pros – It was a big company with name recognition within the industry.
Cons – When the bankruptcy process started, communication as expected was very limited and guarded. The whole process of splitting up the last remaining contracts took an arduously long time and we were often kept in the dark about what was actually happening. Questions and concerns piled up and it was generally not a very pleasant place to work during this time. However, my first two years before this were full of responsibility and new work opportunities. I do believe the upper management could've done a way better job of selling business services and furthering current contracts.
Advice to Senior Management – Better Communication.
More advancement opportunities needed.
Better selling methods

I worked at BearingPoint
Pros – - Consulting projects with many of the Fortune 500 companies
- Fellow "on the ground" consultant were a great group of people (intelligent, hardworking, fun to travel with)
- You will learn a lot
Cons – - Senior SENIOR management has no idea what they're doing with the firm. More often than not, it seems as though our strategic plan is to "copy Accenture" yet we have yet to decipher what they're good at and how that could possibly translate to benefits for our organization
- The promotion and bonus process is clandestine and down-right silly. You'll be told you're doing an excellent job by management, they'll tell you that you have earned an EE (Exceeds Expectations) or SE (Super Exceeds Expectations) but you will be rated as ME (Meets Expectations) because all EE's and SE's have to receive a certain bonus...which they really can't afford to give out.
Advice to Senior Management – For those interested in pursuing opportunities with former BearingPoint partners and Senior Managers now at PWC and Deloitte, I'd suggest going for it. Those who are responsible for client satisifcation are competent and enjoyable to work with. The bankruptcy and subsequent sale of the company rid the company of the horrible senior manager that was plaguing growth and direction. With the management structure of PWC and Deloitte, I believe the combination of BearingPoint talent and PWC/Deloitte management make for a great working environment, under a name that people are actually familiar with "huh, what's BearingPoint? Oooh, formerly KPMG consulting, got it!".

I worked at BearingPoint
Pros – Predominantly Federal Government contracts - which means that employees enjoy greater stability and work / life balance and minimal travel (if residing in the Washington DC metro area).
Cons – Predominantly Federal Government and small sized contracts - which means that profitability of the firm is low. As a result, the ability of the firm to raise compensation is very limited.
Advice to Senior Management – Invest on technology and management solutions and their marketing to government and commercial clients. Otherwise, there is no way to position the firm as a premier technology services provider on the long run.
