I have been working at BearingPoint full-time for more than 10 years

    Pros

Healthy environement with reasonable stress, no internal competition, good human resources process to follow-up carrier and position of original big five (business consulting: mix of pure management consulting and information system capabilities)

    Cons

Just the same as other consulting company: difficult balance between perso and professional
Lack of international visibility and credibility (especially in France since we are coming 50% from PwC and Arthur Andersen !)

    I worked at BearingPoint

    Pros

The structure or the add value of consulting was simply defined and was operated very well.

    Cons

The structure was quite well defined so once you get the experience you do not need special skill. But the requirement is high because of competition and customer pressure is heavy.

Current Employee - R&D Intern in Paris (France)

I have been working at BearingPoint as an intern for less than a year

    Pros

Hypercube is a very interesting technology that enables customers to determine causes for very complex phenomenon. Working in such a team is exciting because of the numerous applications it can have: for example, it can be used to have a better understanding of churn in telecom or to reduce the default rate in industrial production. In R&D specifically, even though the technology, there is still some work to do, especially in the software developpment.

    Cons

Hypercube could benefit from a better integration in BearingPoint: it is a little company inside BearingPoint that shares many drawbacks of small companies.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

The upper management of Hypercube should trust more his colleagues, listen more to what is said and try to be clearer in his expectations.
Nothing to say about the other manager at BearingPoint.

    I worked at BearingPoint

    Pros

Discovering new industries is each time very challenging. Being in a very competitive environment pushes you to develop your skills.

    Cons

No time for personal life, they make you work like hell and are not rewarding you for the evenings you spend at their client. With the economic crisis, you spend more time at the HQ surfing on the internet rather than at the client.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

People are treated like machines/robots and sometimes you find out on the intranet that the following day you are planned at a client, of course no one made sure you were prepared or biefed on the task...
