    Pros

They are the safest company that i have ever worked for. I wish there was a postion in Grand Junction I could transfer to. If there was, I would still be working for them.

    Cons

Long streaches away from my wife and kids, being all over Arizona all the time.

    Pros

When there is work, you can make a lot of hours. They do stress safety.

    Cons

No work/life balance. Lots of OT. Power division employees will get put on 'holding status' (unpaid) between projects for up to 90 days then they will terminate you. They might call you back after you have used all your saved up vacation. Very hard to switch between divisions, though they have work in them. They are getting rid of higher paid experienced people and it shows in the quality, which means less work. They have almost no work in the power business in the US. Though safety is stressed, things aren't quite what they should be. And lastly, there are cliques, and they are strong-the only way to keep working. I have a few weeks before I'm terminated.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

This certainly isn't the same Bechtel of years past when quality was second only to safety. You have to toe the line to stay employed.

    Pros

The projects are in the Nuclear industry which is unlike anything else. I got to experience and be a part of something that few get to do. You meet a lot of interesting people with different backgrounds.

    Cons

Horrible work-life balance, the culture there is to not take any time off and you are negatively judged if you do. The work itself is very monotone and boring. They don't encourage the employees to learn new and different things.

    Pros

Loyal to their employees, personal growth, time off, benefits, overtime, you are given the opputunity to move around the company/try different positions if you so desire, team environment, pleasant work environment: not stuffy, takes safety seriously and has the history to prove it.

    Cons

High turn-around rate if you are contractor, Work availability depends on the client, stressful environment at times-some people are overworked, you can be subject to relocation based on project load.

The high turn-around rate causes stress on management because they have to re-train, but that is the nature of the business.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Don't even think about sacrificing some of the values for the client. I've never seen it done, but I feel like their has been close calls
