Former Employee – worked at Beckett Media
Pros – Work life balance. Down to earth people. Fun work environment sometime. Feel like part of the company. It could be better though.
Cons – No promotion opportunity. You just do your job and go home. Management not aggresive on sales and marketing. Only cost cutting can not save the company for sure.
Advice to Senior Management – Please take the leadership and have better strategy on marketing and sales. Cutting cost and laying off people are not the solutions to company.

Former Employee – worked at Beckett Media full-time
Pros – Can be fun at times if you're into the subject matter, i.e., collectibles. Good people at the lower end of the spectrum.
Cons – Upper management is disconnected, often physically (in a different office) from the people they supposedly manage. Input falls on deaf ears because they know how to make/sell magazines and the rest of us apparently don't.
Advice to Senior Management – Listen to your subordinates from time to time. You don't have all the answers.
No, I would not recommend this company to a friend – I'm not optimistic about the outlook for this company

Current Employee – been working at Beckett Media full-time for less than a year
Pros – Weekends and Holidays off, Health and dental insurance
Cons – Don't have an exact time to get off, you must take plenty of mail after work daily and not the best pay.

Pros – You do get enough vacation time, but its not worth it because there aren't enough people to help cover you and you'll end up with three times the workload when you get back, making for a stressful vacation.
Cons – the most passive-aggressive management I've ever experienced. You will never, ever get praised, but will always be told what you're doing wrong. In fact, they will make weird things up about what you're doing wrong and then keep it on your record, even when it's agreed it's incorrect. You will be promised a bonus in order to work harder, but it will never come. If you're a robot with no soul and no heart, work here, you'll love it. If you never want to see your significant other or friends again, work here, you'll love it.
Advice to Senior Management – Be more upfront when there's an issue insteas of telling everyone but the person you have an issue with. Offer a way to boost morale, even if its a "thank you." Tell the employees when you let someone go and have a backup plan besides simply letting employees walk over to an empty desk and end u having to take over their job.

Former Employee – worked at Beckett Media
Pros – At times, it was a fun work environment. Great work/life balance. Flexibility on taking time off. Being able to work from home occasionally.
Cons – At the time I left, one person was doing the job of 5 people. The current management believes in overworking the remaining staff. Also, staff is overworked, underpaid and stressed out because of the extra work and their "skeleton crew".
Advice to Senior Management – Management should be more upfront about any staff changes and company related matters that affect the staff. Meaning, if someone leaves please inform the others if they have to take over that person's job or if you're going to hire someone. Replace upper management with more experienced managers.

Current Employee – been working at Beckett Media
Pros – Flexibility for family but only because of previous owner instilling the policy.
Cons – At the time I left they had every employee overworked, stressed out and worried about being laid off. Current ownership believes in taking it all out of you.
Advice to Senior Management – Remember that a company's best assets is its employees. Replace upper management with fresh, experienced management.
