    Pros

loving people some understanding management percentage off because we are employees Break room drink machine might be getting a food machine in break room

    Cons

customers that don't understand not to get on our ladders when they are 10 feet tall and then get mad when we ask them to get down customers that don't understand when we don't have something we really just don't have it.

    Advice to Management

make it more clear to our customers that they don't run the store we do. make it more clear to your operations managers that the associates availability is set in stone and unchangable.

    Pros

Middle management was great...a bit overworked.

    Cons

Not enough hours designated solely for customer service. Always divided between stocking and assisting customers, emphasis on stocking and zoning. Staff is generally unhappy and complain a lot and management doesn't emphasis team work, training is done on whim while associates are on the floor.

    Advice to Management

Create a friendly, safe environment for employees emphasis on teamwork and always make the customer #1 priority

    Pros

Very flexible with the work schedule. Great company if you are in school. Convenient locations all throughout NYC. The job is repetitive so it is easy to complete the job. Employees are diversified, smart and hard working.

    Cons

upper level management are not supportive of employee views. compensation is very low if you are promoted from within. outdated systems and software.

    Advice to Management

easy advancement to management as long as you are aggressive and consistent. You may be promoted within 3years if upper level management likes you.

    Pros

Easy going yet thorough management, flexible schedule, good hours, helpful coworkers, keeps you busy

    Cons

I have not noticed any cons yet. It's a little intimidating at first but the more you learn the better it gets and everyone is willing to teach you.

    Advice to Management

Cookies in the break room more often :) otherwise doing a great job.

    Pros

Most of the time decent hours, fairly easy to learn the job necessities, learn how to manage multi-tasking.

    Cons

Sometimes do too much at once, new employee training is too relaxed; new people do not get the right information which in turn makes customers mad.

    Advice to Management

Give the better hours to senior staff, even to the return seasonals. Also pay better attention to training new employees.

    Pros

Hard work is compensated. Decent health benefits and 401K. My peers. The culture is one of a kind.

    Cons

Hours for the stores have decreased significantly. Hardworking stellar employees are quitting. Managers are getting burnt out. It is getting harder not to take work home with me as I see a company that I love to work for headed for disaster. Promote from within policy is non existent.

    Advice to Management

Recognize your honorable and passionate employees from management to part time associates! Reward them with the appropriate hours to run the business to your expectations. We need more work/life balance.

    Pros

The best reason to work at Bed Bath & Beyond is to improve my leadership role and facing higher challenges that will improve my working skills.

    Cons

Rushing and taking my time with things is what I can improve at, because I tend to do things by time.

    Advice to Management

Stay aware, stay alert, know how to keep the store neat and clean, and develop your products for customers.

    Pros

I learned a lot about myself at this store. I learned how competitive and driven I could be in a working environment. I developed many people skills while working here and learned how to be a team player.

    Cons

Some of management were stuck in their ways and did not want to hear new ideas. Things could also get too competitive to where it was not fun anymore.

    Advice to Management

Hear your associates ideas and try them out. If it does not work then it try something else. Give everyone a chance to make a difference in the store.
