I have been working at Bed Bath & Beyond

    Pros

Pay is good. Most employees are great to work with.

    Cons

I was told I was "above average" on my hours. Had to give back 9 hours this week because they gave out 9 hours more to me last week when they had call-outs, and employees quitting/getting fired. Never told this before but was told this coming week I needed to be cut the hours. Be careful if receiving extra hours.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Be honest with part time employees and explain "above average" hours. Don't give out extra hours if you plan on taking it back.

    Cons

part time means you will not work more than 23 hours a week, no health benifits, no growth opportunities, discount is only 20% (customers get 20% coupons) my location was always understaffed, you will be over worked to compensate for the lack of employee coverage on the floor

  10. Don't ever expect to transfer at the same rate of pay

I have been working at Bed Bath & Beyond part-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

Flexible hours, 20% discount, at-cost merchandise

    Cons

Everything else. The upper management is all money hungry and crazy. They do not know how to talk with store management or employees, encourage them, or promote a healthy work environment. They cut my pay nearly $6/hour because I transferred to a store closer to my home, after 6 months of already being at the current store! Surprise to me! If it's your first job, it'll be fine, but I'm too valuable to have stayed with this company any longer. Linens-N-Things was much better.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Appreciate and value your employees. Pay them fairly. Retail is not an easy job.

    Pros

The training is super comprehensive and you will be 100% ready for whatever comes your way on the floor or at the register, company policies really allow you to work with customers to accomodate them and make them happy, my coworkers and bosses were all wonderfully nice, great comeraderie, helped me develop my customer service skills, I genuinely enjoyed coming to work and helping out the customers.

    Cons

No cons that I can think of. Working here was a pleasure.
