    I have been working at Bed Bath & Beyond full-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

    This is the only retail company that truly behaves as if it believes that customers are the most important thing.most people are great to work with, and the training program is phenomenal.

    Cons

    The expectations of the tasks that can possibly get done while still giving the expected customer service is nearly impossible. The staffing is not heavy enough to get everything done. There is a reluctance to promote people from hourly to management trainee. They'd rather take their chances by hiring someone from outside the company straight into management, than to promote someone whose work performance and customer service skills they are familiar with (some random worry that there will be some kind of problem with jealousy). the technology is and embarrassing when trying to help customers.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Stop expecting everything to look perfect, and making employees merchandise the same products 3 times. Let them spend their time selling to customers.

    You get to interact with everyone, the hours that are given are fair. The change in management was a good choice for this location.

    Cons

    no one really works as a team, the stock rooms are not all that safe and organized, the return policy is outrageous.

    when an employee does something wrong, bring it to their attention right away so it can be fixed, communicate with the front end better, and change the front end manager.

    if you get a good manager, you have a lot of freedom to try new things and get control over your department which can be a lot of fun. they are very flexible with your schedule if you need to work around school or some other commitment.

    Cons

    raises are terrible! they keep piling on responsibility, but are not allowed to give a raise that makes you feel like you are worth anything. often work with a ton of people who dont care which can make your life harder.

    Pros

    Great pay and benefits. There are a lot of hard working individuals who are great to be around. Customer service is something that is really important and it makes the job easier when you can treat the customer as though they are always right.

    Cons

    Not open to suggestions and though they say that it is your own business that is only if they agree with your decision, but if you follow their guidance and it doesn't work then you are questioned on your ability to run your business.

    Meeting and Engaging with people from all around the word, Celebrities sometimes come in to shop and the training and meeting are fun. Pay is good also.

    Some of the challenges of working here is trying to be patient and stay calm when a costumer get out of line.
