I worked at Beechcraft full-time for more than 10 years

    Pros

Lots of history, pride of ownership, HR and management that seemed to care about doing well and taking care of the customers and employees.

    Cons

There was a disjointed management team, lots of focus on compartmentalized improvement projects that did not create overall profitability. Difficult environment to create change quickly.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Use financial decision making at all levels, without losing the heart and history of the place.

I have been working at Beechcraft full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

The company supports additional training and continued education. They invest in their employees. Beechcraft has a great company culture and is a unique company to work for.

    Cons

Like a lot of Aviation companies, Beechcraft has too many layoffs. There is no job security working for the company which is ironic since they invest so much in employees furthering their education.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

I would advise management to review current processes. There are a lot of things that are done 2 and 3 times, so policies are not very efficient and things are not done in a timely manner. If I were a senior manager, I would create more accountability and a strive for quicker results.

    Pros

Leadership truly cares about it's people, the mission, family - this company has all the right ideas and principles in place to create a positive atmosphere.

There is not much of any downsides, this company is truly a great experience and would work for them down the road.

I worked at Beechcraft full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Fellow workers were real nice and pleasent to work with. Processess and procedures better than most in the industry. Great since of pride within the company.

    Cons

The union has made labor force within Beechcraft over priced and lazy, and failed to be a factor in preventing work from going out of the country. Engineering and technical support departments are understaffed and overworked. Sourcing core engineering to india was not what Beechcraft expected. Actually turned out to be cheaper and faster turn around in house.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Concentrate on improving the development and manufacturing of the product lines. Middle management is too fat, lower management is too thin and over worked, try and reach a balance.
