Pros
One of my main concerns about working with a large company is whether or not they care about how happy you are working there. Engagement is a key concern, and I see management trying earnestly to improve. They have frequent agent appreciation days ( ice cream days... snack days... games and more treats! )
Cons
But.... pay-wise it's hard to argue that we're not getting paid as well as other companies with same positions. Tried applying to a different department but there seems to be budget issues so apparently external applicants are favored over internal ones so they can get paid less... I don't know, this is the word in the office so I don't know how true it is. It IS discouraging when you know you can do a good job but don't at least get an interview...
Advice to Senior Management
Sales agents need to be paid more... otherwise you're losing ( and you already are ) the good ones to your competitors!
Pros
3 months of training is provided and paid.. honeymoon period ends there. They treat you nicely and make you think it's a good place to work durring training, then when it's done they turn off the charm.
Cons
Management belittles employees, there is no privacy.. if you have a problem the whole office will hear about it. No understanding of work/life balance. Can never find someone to help when you need them, very stressful work environment. They tell you they're not "sales-driven" but focused on "growth", aka they'll still track your sales and tell you improvement in getting sales is needed but neglect to give you any positive feedback whatsoever. Favouritism is the only way anyone can get advancement. If you like a job that you dread going into, get yelled at by callers and management, and has you stay late almost every day... then this is perfect for you!
Advice to Senior Management
Be more available. More attention to professionalism and privacy. More understanding for the hard work the agents do and better compensation is needed
Pros
good benefits right from the start, young(er) colleagues, big desk, two monitors, not sales driven
Cons
low salary, unpaid 1 hour lunch (paid 7h for 8h workday or paid 8h for 9h workday), strict adherence to logging in by the minute, limited advancement opportunities, unrealistic scores to measure performance, team leaders are never around when you need them, very busy queue, favoritism when assigning special projects, consistently being stuck at work well after shift ends or when the call centre is closed, flex time that can never be used, working long hours with no short breaks in between, office politics, high stress environment
Advice to Senior Management
Try to value employees more, through compensation and respect, then they would stay.
Pros
great opportunity for a uni student while studying
very accomadating to students
generally speaking some nice people, they treat you well
Cons
not much room for growth, not a place for an innovator or someone with a lot of drive but hey, it's not rocket science
Advice to Senior Management
Can promote efficiency a little better, there are some really great managers there though but not a lot.
Pros
Management supportive of work/life balance
Most employees work hard and get things done fast
Cons
Some daily useless "busy work" could easily be eradicated if processes were more streamlined
Advice to Senior Management
Look to keep processes simple
Pros
They train you to received your OTL liscense and they pay for it... Thats where it ends.
Cons
Horrible management! not enough compensation for the work that you are doing.
No breaks!
Racism and Sexism.
Advice to Senior Management
Do more for your employees
Pros
some good perks such as computer loan, fitness subsidy
Cons
everything else. management is incompetent and unfriendly, do not relay information of changes until some time after change, are not open to change or flexibility with work times, days etc. overall, very corporate, stiff & cold environment that is more concerned with their shareholders than their employees or customers.
Privacy is a concern, people's personal matters are discussed out in the open between management AND employees.
Managers mock and belittle employees.
Senior management is never seen and do not get back to you when you attempt to make time to see them to discuss matters.
Favouritism is seen regularily with promotions.
Advice to Senior Management
try listening to your employees for once
