Pros
Interesting projects, known brand, big budgets comparing to other companies, good money for contractor, ok salaries for employees, respect to one's work
Cons
Corporate culture, bureaucratic approach kills the innovation and speed of work. Lot's of wasted time on endless discussions, long decision process. Not agile at all.
Advice to Senior Management
less meeting, more and faster decisions. Appreciate good job but no consequences for bad job causing that people don't change their approach.
Pros
simple, technical, stable, chance to learn and improve, team friendly
Cons
not exactly (hopefully more motivations)
Advice to Senior Management
no comments for the moment
Pros
brand, products, market share, incumbent, job security
Cons
it's a burecratic environment, less diversification, very belgian
Advice to Senior Management
Bring operational efficiency
Pros
Good salary + benefits.
Super job security (doesn't matter if you don't perform, the unions will save you).
Quality work environment (office, materials) with lots of light.
Many feel-good company initiatives to take part in (Red Cross, Unicef, ...)
Cons
Rusted management culture.
Incredible amount of grumbling from employees, yet they all stay for the pay and the benefits - negative work culture.
Impossible firing procedures reward incompetence, and discourage high performers who don't get the promotion they deserve. (Hence the reason for grumbling.)
Those who stay are the incompetent ones, or those have not yet grown frustrated enough to quit.
Advice to Senior Management
Reward high performers, and transform HR policies so that you can weed out the bad ones without the unions taking everything to court. There's plenty of cash to throw around (thank you ex-monopoly) so you have the amunition you need to really make the company great!
