I worked at Bell Canada full-time for more than 10 years

    Pros

Spent many years at Bell Canada in the marketing organization, and had the privilege of working with some extraordinary people. Great opportunity for development with courses and new roles. Decent salaries, with great incentive programs including RSUs and achievement incentive programs. Great data is available to support decision-making.

    Cons

Lots of organizational changes. The move to the Mississauga campus was challenging for some, as public transit from downtown Toronto takes a long time. The call-centres have been under a lot of pressure for some time as the result of reductions.

I have been working at Bell Canada full-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

35% discount on mobility & retail services (provided they can get the billing right & the services works)

    Cons

Continuous downsizing – same work or more with less staff – not a stable environment. No work life balance – tout products to encourage customers to have teleworkers (Bell wants to be seen as environmentally friendly )– most employees no longer have this opportunity. No raises, yearly bonus is mostly done on a curve ( see -if they can screw you out of it they will). Assistant Directors have been brought before HR with complaints of bullying from supporting staff – not resolved satisfactorily for the support staff. Bell is not the company they’d like you to believe they are (or perhaps not in Western Canada) I would not recommend this company

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Compensation needs to be reviewed - AIP doesn't cut it. Time to review your AD's & clean house.

I worked at Bell Canada as a contractor for more than a year

    Pros

The company provides a mature, stable, and safe place to work. Good brand, and good employee base. Good benefits program.

    Cons

Corporate vision is still lacking to some extent. Company had some leading edge ideas that were not followed through on, and this has a negative impact on internal morale and client expectation.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Show more creativity and vision in the area of new product, service, and solution development.

I have been working at Bell Canada

    Pros

Lots of diverse opportunities giving you a chance to learn about different areas of the business. Good strong people to learn from too.

    Cons

Definitely a "do more with less" type of environment as it's been getting leaner and leaner over the years. Not really in a growing industry.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Need more focus on advancement as many layers of the company are really stagnant.
