    Pros

Some of the best people I've ever worked with. Tremendous opportunity to grow personally and professionally.

    Cons

Benefits are lacking but the company is working on reinstating some of the key benefits. It will happen.

    Advice to Management

Management over the last year has made significant improvements to the organization.

  2. Management IS NON EXISTENT and they do not care about their employees. They tell you what you want to hear.

    Pros

    Nothing. Nothing. Nothing. Nothing. Nothing.

    Cons

    Pay Freeze since 1907
Management does not listen to employees needs or advice on how to make a department better.

    Advice to Management

Give your good employees the raise they deserve and you will keep them around, get rid of the employees draining the company. Show your employees they are appreciated. The more you want your employees to succeed the more they will want the company to succeed.

  3. Deceitful company towards customers.

    Pros

Good people except management way out of touch

    Cons

Company doesn't mind lying to customers about products and constantly finish/manufacture machine changes at last minute.

    Advice to Management

Tell the truth. After meeting with Verizon and explaining these practices by bell +howell will hopefully stop any interest Verizon May have.

    Pros

At one time this was a very good company to work with a strong core of manufacturing and sales.

    Cons

A once great company to work for and have a career with has been dismantled by the private equity owner of the last 3 years, Versa Capital. Constant cuts in resources and downsizing of staff and resources resulted in lost market share, compromised customer service and sales success which were the core foundation for decades.

    Advice to Management

Practice what you preach and actually listen to what your customers expect from you, and deliver it. Learn who your employees are before making cuts in staff, and quit blaming your sales organization for poor sales performance.

    Pros

Very stable, team-oriented staff, interesting & challenging work.

    Cons

No raises, benefit cuts, no 401K match since 2008. Prior to 2008 raises were historically weak (<4% typ.) due to "business conditions", but company is very fond of handing out "VP' and "Director" titles, presumably with commensurate pay increases.

Upper management is historically unstable: prone to go charging off after the next "big shiny thing", C-suite rotates every 18 mos or so, proclaims re-invention and forgets everything their predecessor said or did. The staff doesn't forget and has little respect or faith in mgmt.

Since bankruptcy and buyout by holding company, company has been largely rudder-less. Would not recommend employment- not worth the stress and disappointment.

    Advice to Management

Company requires a real leader- has had many technically proficient C's, but an effective and charismatic leader is needed.

Company says "our employees are our biggest asset" , but actions undermine the words, credibility not found.

    Pros

Some good people very dedicated to their job. Consolidation of locations and activities will allow increased focus on new product and sales.

    Cons

This is a company focused on mail. That is a dying market. The long term freeze in pay and 401k match make it difficult to retain and hire new staff.

    Advice to Management

Focus on growth outside mail. Many opportunities exist primarily around the software products and services. Those should be leveraged to grow into a new business

    Pros

I have a job. Steady paycheck. Meet some good people. As of now it is not far from home.

    Cons

No advancement, no merit increases, very hard to get training on new equipment. Stuck with problems on machinery I have no knowledge of and very hard to get support at night time from senior technicians so I have to learn everything on the job to the point that my manager thinks I have training and doesn't set me up for it.. Very poor attitude from technicians because of company future causes myself to give up and work on my own to try to make it every week. Only reason I have taken to work the graveyard shift is to save up enough money in my 401K, (which is not helped by Management anymore) so that I can retire on my social security in 8 years and work at a less stressful job. If I was 20 years younger I would have quit by now and gotten a better job.

    Advice to Management

Whats the point? Management hasn't done anything but hire executives and give themselves bonuses every year! What use to be a great company years ago has fallen so low because of decisions made at the higher ups! Like I stated before I just want to do do my job until I can retire and move on.

    Pros

Great co-workers, with the exception of senior management

    Cons

Poor management, has no clear direction for new company out ch11. No pay increase or 401k match in over 7 years. No future.

    Advice to Management

    Doesn't matter. They don't listen.
