I have been working at Bellagio full-time (more than 5 years)

    Pros

Great Internal Education, Market leader and cutting edge everything. Best of the Best, progressive policies.

    Cons

You may work every weekend and every Holiday, Low turnover, so 60-70% of the employees there, have been on the job for ten years, or more.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

I have been working at Bellagio full-time (more than 10 years)

    Pros

If you are willing to put in the hard work you will see the benefit. Must have a social person and be good interacting with any personality type or culture. There is definitely opportunity to be successful and benefit the company. If you are successful people will notice and you will have opportunities for growth.

    Cons

It can be hard to stay focused because of such a large work load. I felt like almost everyone who works for Bellagio is expected to take on a heavy work load. This can be challenging to the employees to stay fresh and motivated when trying to give exceptional customer service to new faces from all around the world every day.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

It's clear that The market in Vegas is more viscous than constant. It's not a bad thing to have a little extra staff on board during the busy times to make sure everything is done right and problems are minimized.

I have been working at Bellagio full-time (more than 5 years)

    Pros

Steady paycheck, full medical/dental/vision, paid accrued vacations.

    Cons

Typical management bull of meeting daily sales quotas while also being asked to take our time with customers, and work together as a team. You can't have all of that.

The point system of calling out sick really sucked. Or if you were going to be late, it was a half a point dock. 10 and you're fired. 8 and you had to have a full year of perfect attendance in order to wipe the slate clean. Absurd.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Make exceptions for sick days and tardies once in a while. Promote either teamwork, or sales.

I have been working at Bellagio part-time (less than a year)

    Pros

Free Meals, Free Uniform Maintenance, Overall Good Company to work for as far as support education opportunities and self betterment.

    Cons

Alot of standing around at post like the elevator lobbies checking room keys and the Painting outside Executive Office. its really hard on the feet so have good comfortable shoes. Other post involve alot of walking and its a big property. Forget "5 Star-5 Diamond" Luxury because you WILL be dealing with the Ugly side of it including Fights, Drunks, People who have passed out & urinated & defecated on themselves that you will have to wheelchair escort, sleepers in the restrooms & casino area, Undesirable Street Vagrants slot checking & Panhandling and responding to Medical Calls involving blood and no telling what else. And for all this they pay Houskeeping more money ($16) to start than Security ($12.50). Other Hotel/Casinos pay more so look around before leaping. Also there are alot of disgruntled Officers there who hate the place but have years of time invested in the job and are just collecting a check who will dump the work load on others and not pull their weight.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Stop "knit picking" and making negative notes in peoples Personnel Files. This does nothing but undermine your position as a leader & creates disgruntled employees. But above all - Pay a decent starting wage equal to Housekeeping for the people who are doing equal dirty work and putting their own safety at risk. Also STOP taking advantage of Part Time Officers by working them Full Time Hours and not paying benefits.

    Pros

You are in an environment that oozes luxury and opulence. You are surrounded by beautiful people and a lively atmosphere.

    Cons

There is never any downtime. It is busy all year round. Competition is intense to out perform other properties. A lot of pressure from management to be a cut above the rest.

    Pros

Great money, meet lots of interesting people from all around the world. Good hours, for the most part happy co-workers.

    Cons

You work most holidays, and weekends. It is hard to get full time, which you need for benefits. The customer is always right, even if they are not. Can receive discipline for things that are out of your control.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

I had a great manager. Assistant manager was another story, scary at times.
