    Pros

A great place to start a career since they like to promote from within. The managers and co-workers are easily engaged and are willing to help out with anything. The atmosphere is great for building a network with the members and co-workers.
Benefits are great here with almost full-coverage for Health, Dental, and Vision. A 401K after 90 days.

    Cons

It is hard working part-time financially since their are no real Performance reviews.

    Advice to Management

Could give employees a little better pay rate.

    Pros

Flexible hours and potential for making good tips. Many members are friendly and kind.

    Cons

Management however tends to think top down only and doesn't seem to adapt well or listen to ideas. Several members are harassing and unappreciative.

I worked at Bellevue Club part-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

The people I worked with were great. The club was also rich in history, it was built in the 1920's. The club was a greater starter job for someone in cooking school. I moved up the ranks quickly.

    Cons

I felt like if you were not in a salaried postion it would be difficult to raise a family. My benefits were great until I had to pay for dependants. It just started eating away at my paycheck in a big way. I couldn't even afford day care.

    Advice to Management

    Pay a little more.

    Pros

Nice facilities, but part time staff don't get to enjoy them.

    Cons

Awful management, wages are extremely low in proportion to work expected, inflexible work schedule, erratic and arbitrary.

    Advice to Management

Raise wages to be comparable to other pools, find better middle management. This is an upscale club and employees are expected to provide better customer service to members than working in public pools or lower-end private clubs. Consequently, staff should be compensated and treated as such.

    Pros

Some guests are very kind, great place to network for future business opportunities

    Cons

Not always understanding when scheduling during exams, guests complain easily and can be quite difficult, some questionable hiring decisions, advancement opportunities are severely limited, childcare workers are financially undervalued.

    Advice to Management

Include employee appreciation events, staff member appreciation events appropriately, buy and rotate supplies more often so stock doesn't run out. The locker rooms need to be remodeled. The mold in the walls is a work hazard and dangerous to expose children to.

    Pros

Free access to a top of the line club. Great food and easy parking! Great benefits too.

    Cons

Got a little boring and repetitive, low pay. Some people were a little snobby, which is expected I guess.

    Advice to Management

    Give raises!

    Pros

Great environment, many good people, good benefits--especially if you like working out.

    Cons

My manager sometimes kept information to himself that would have helped me do a better job. The health insurance for my wife and children was covered entirely by my employer went up to $1480/month for my wife and children.

The business office seems to be heavily staffed, and they make a tremendous amount of paperwork. I don't know how standard that is, but it really surprised me.

    Advice to Management

A couple of managers have problems containing strong personal opinions. It creates an environment of distrust.

Member and employee rules are meaningless if you do not enforce them. You are losing money because too many guests are not properly checked in.
