I have been working at Beltone full-time (more than an year)

    Pros

This company has been around for 75 years and has strong stability within a growing industry. The culture is one where people want to stay and build a long term career.
Excellent leadership and a caring environment.

    Cons

Beltone is now a part of a global company called GN. There are several companies owned by GN across North America. This can cause some confusion with process at times.

    Pros

Genuinely nice and caring colleagues - upper management wants their team to succeed - team-oriented environment- gorgeous building/working atmosphere - great benefits/competitive salary - ideal location.

    Cons

    None that come to mind!

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Continue doing what you're doing - many companies out there could take a lesson or two from your playbook.

first two months mixed. Hard to get licensure for hearing aid sales technician. State of Michigan. Good standard "draw"

I have been working at Beltone full-time (less than an year)

    Pros

Franchisee is a good reputable company (all are dealerships, no beltone corporate companies), draw is liveable in midwest (excepting large cities) but big cities have "questionable" practices. Not that Beltone would ever be impugned, the testing keeps the company HONEST....Great trainer and company in Metro Detroit "earphonics".......

    Cons

Two months into business. Don't have accurate gauge on business, but many people helped so far.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Disclose your practices, show sales, deliveries and offer better draw. 550 a month would be better. Business is business, but management shold be able to see talent and reward that. Also, more mailers, 1% from 10K is 100 responses and 30 actual takers. Mass mailings and more marketing advised. Advertising costs will load up front, but back end will make much profit.

    Pros

NONE...UNLESS YOU LIKE TELEMARKETING TO OLD PEOPLE!!!

    Cons

Before you even start you have to wait a month till you get licenced by michigan. Earphonics over promises how much you will actually make. I was told between $65,000-$105,000 first year. After talking to senior sales reps told me they were only making $40,000 a year, after 5 years in the business.
On average, new reps are making minimum wage, and you are a telemarketer calling old people trying to get them to buy hearing aids...and you can't even tell the old people how much the hearing aids cost until you show them the contract, and they have sticker shock...
All other hearing aid companies, let the customers know up front how much the hearing aids are.

    DON'T SIGN THE NON-COMPETE FORM!!!
RUN TO COSTCO, THEY ARE STARTING AT $60,000 A YEAR!!!

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Sell the company to someone who will not lie to old people!!!!!!!!

I have been working at Beltone full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

Helping people hear better is really a rewarding career, hands on counseling, and seeing improvement over time, is a beautiful thing.

    Cons

False promises of a "goldmine" office. Used in the industry to lure, still a lateral move. If the company backs off of mailers, sales plummet. As does your pay, even on low salary / low commission.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

The market is saturated. Time to rework the mailers, allow employees to hit their numbers by setting them appropriately and making bonuses achievable. Whoever started the weekly phone conference and turned it into a lulling browbeating, it's killing morale. Everyone in management is not a motivational speaker. If you can't do it, hire someone. We do need the encouragement to continue on during a slow period.

    Cons

I was currently in my last year of school for accounting and i still had a few accounting concepts to learn.

I have been working at Beltone full-time (more than an year)

    Pros

Working at Beltone gives me flexibility during the day, and a chance to meet new people constantly. I also work 4 days per week, giving me a long weekend and a day to run errands. You're basically your own boss several days a week. Paid holidays upon employment. GREAT Home Office Staff.

    Cons

There's no lunch time. It's a one person office. Health Insurance could be better.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

A 30 minute break per day would be nice.

I worked at Beltone full-time (more than an year)

    Pros

Coworkers and patients are great. Management is a joke
Stay for a year and learn as much as you can then move on.

    Cons

Wages are below standard. Training is nonexistent. Promises are never kept.
Hearing aid technology has fallen behind.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

When you instruct your employees to follow one procedure then change it with out informing your employees, then reprimand them for followings said procedures , is a vey good way to loose employees.
