    I worked at Ben & Jerry's

    Pros

Free ice cream with a fair wage. Can become supervisor and earn more. Friendly work environment.

    Cons

Tiring and strange hours worked, although that is more attributed to the location of the store you work at. Each store can be operated differently. My store manager allowed the hiring of some sketchy people with strong hippy style, which was cool and interesting, except when I had to carry out disciplinary action for some who clearly had drug problems.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Hire more straight edge kids looking for summer jobs, rather than sketched out hippies who bring their drug issues to work.

It is a good entry level job for teens who are seeking experience in customer service skills, money handling skills, and food handling skills.

I have been working at Ben & Jerry's part-time (less than an year)

    Pros

Great perks (free ice cream), good people to work with, a fun environment to work in. I loved working here, especially because I got to make ice cream cakes.

    Cons

No room for growth - they are franchises. The stores are all the same layout, so it gets really noisy with the tile floors, glass cases, and low resonance humming from the fans

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    I would not change anything!
