    Pros

Associates are trained and empowered to make own decisions using past experience and company's flexible guidelines, as long as it makes business sense.

    Cons

There are no negatives with regard to working for this company

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

I worked at Benchmark Hospitality full-time (less than a year)

    Pros

Good location. Many different venues that the company can keep expanding and generate more profit.

    Cons

Business changes with the season. Instead of working an average of 40 hours a week, you might do 30-35 during the winter season. Poor management decisions on menu planning, and service. Expediting system horrible. Difficult to find housing.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Manager in their respected departments should make the decisions. I think senior management lacks direction and experience to keep up with a stable theme to the restaurant.

Pay is a little above avg. Benefits are good, more choices than most places. Overall they really try to make employees feel like a family

    Cons

I got a new director and the he and the manager didn't get along. I was always being put in the middle and made the scapegoat for situations when I was given conflicting information.

I worked at Benchmark Hospitality part-time

    Pros

Diverse work environment in the sense that there are many departments handling all the various requirements of hotel/conference center complex.

    Cons

Lots of turnover in the larger departments. Frustrating mis-communication between departments. Complex is owned by State, however management is run by an outside company, leading to some employees being state employed therefore limited to 1500 hours/yearSome, if not most management are employed by the management company and are given benefits, but sometimes not paid for overtime that may be required.
Very difficult to move into these positions.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Open up more full time and benefit positions and opportunities.
