Current Employee – been working at Bentley Systems
Pros – The company culture has a strong emphasis on making the employees feel secure in their jobs. Additionally, the atmosphere is more helpful than cutthroat.
On the technical side, some projects (but not all) are interesting to work on and involve new technologies.
Cons – The salaries are not very good compared to similar companies. Additionally, there are not many possibilities for career advancement given the low ratio of managers to engineers.
On the technical side, a lot of the software base is quite old and needs to be maintained, which is not as interesting as developing new features.
Advice to Senior Management – Management needs to have a better planning approach as the timelines for product development and release never seem to conform to the reality.

Current Employee – been working at Bentley Systems
Pros – - CAD software dev. experience.
- Reasonable benefits.
Cons – - Zero career planning for employees.
- Favoritism.
- Employees not exposed to new areas or recommended for better positions.
- Segregation / marginalization.
- Confused management keeps changing policies and structure.
Advice to Senior Management – Stay focused. Work on employee career progression. Take employee annual self-evaluations and career plans seriously, especially senior employees who don't see any sign of achieving their goals. Recommend employees for better positions instead of relegating them to just one role for the entire duration of their employment. Crack down on favoritism and employee segregation.

Former Employee – worked at Bentley Systems full-time for more than 3 years
Pros – Great family company to work for, family culture is great, employees come first, great products, helpful bunch of colleagues.... All around a great experience indeed!
Cons – Territorial management and vertical sales/management doesn't work in an emerging country/market.africa is a different ball game to mature markets like US, EU and needs to be managed accordingly.
Advice to Senior Management – Listen to local work force in new markets/continents, being a TE who visits once in while to shop doesn't make you SME on market, conditions etc.
