I have been working at Bentley University as a contractor

    Pros

great coworkers, benefits are good. Overall a good stepping-stone.

    Cons

Pay is lower than it ought to be, major disconnect between different departments on campus. It makes it very hard to do even the simplest thing that requires leaving your own department to complete a task.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Fix the inter-office politicking, and find a way to better promote professional development of those early in their careers.

I worked at Bentley University full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

Generous vacation policies, flexible summer schedule, with Fridays off, allow for a good work/life balance. Easy work pace, with some exceptions around peak times (per academic calendar)

    Cons

Salaries were quite low, even for academia. Very slow moving on new initiatives.

I worked at Bentley University part-time (less than an year)

    Pros

I really enjoyed my time at Bentley. The athletics department immediately makes you feel like you are a part of the team, and the support for each team was remarkable. I have not seen that kind of support at previous institutions.

    Cons

For me, the commute was a bit of a challenge, but that was mostly because I was coming from a difficult location. Not accessible by T.

I have been working at Bentley University

    Pros

Paid more in benefits than salary if that's what your looking for.

    Cons

'Bonus' less than yearly inflation, basically non-existent. New hires will typically start off with a very low annual salary.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Start employees out with a fair salary. Give actual bonuses.

I worked at Bentley University full-time (more than 5 years)

    Pros

The benefits. 4 day summer work weeks, week between Xmas and NY off, great retirement, support services.

The people. The people who work at Bentley are really engaged with the institution and its students. They are a close knit community of people who *care*

    Cons

The former president was an amazing leader and visionary; it's hard for the new president to live up to the expectations set by the former leader, and to forge a new vision. As with any presidential transition, there is also transition at the topmost positions.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Fully engage the faculty and staff of Bentley. Their dedication and commitment is exemplary and it's a lost resource if not fully utilized.
