Pros – Great benefits. Some amazing people. Can be fun. Good hours if you like working nights too. Good pay. But most of all good benefits.
Cons – They encourage you to tell them what can be done to make things better. Then when you do they won't listen. Do what the want anyways.
Advice to Senior Management – Just listen to your employees. You are in an office and have no clue what is really going. When we tell you what will work better just try it. Always hire people that are truly qualified to do the job.

Pros – Great benefits and great people from community
Cons – Totem pole effect: starts at the top (elected official) cushioned between layers of management, which doesn't communicate except to find fault in the non-management employees , then pretends to be not "in the know", which then aggravates the employees, other depts and residents alike.
Advice to Senior Management – Take responsibility for actions and provide a team environment (not just management team) without the common thought that there's always someone else in line for a job. Only time there's courtesy is one/all managers wants something - how about the golden rule: treat others how you'd want to be treated?
