Great Place to Grow

Applications Developer (Former Employee)
Horsham, PA

I worked at Berkadia as a contractor for less than a year

ProsThey are very respectful of their IT consultants and permanent staff, you are allowed to have a life outside of the company and also there is a great team environment.

ConsSome of the little things that need to be taken care of by the project managers are overlooked, like consistent documentation.

Advice to Senior ManagementMake sure you know what is going on with each area so that you are prepared when people want to leave.

Great Potential

Anonymous Employee (Current Employee)

I have been working at Berkadia full-time

ProsDecent starting pay, casual culture, smart people

ConsSevere Lack of Leadership at the top, Terrible HR department, Lack of Management Skills at Senior Positions

Advice to Senior ManagementGet an External Operations Manager in at a Senior Level. Appoint a COO that actually knows Operations. Completely rebuild HR as it is absolutely non value add in its current state.

– I'm optimistic about the outlook for this company

Challenging work in a great work environment.

Senior Asset Manager (Former Employee)
Dallas, TX

I worked at Berkadia full-time for more than 10 years

ProsPositive atmosphere and intelligent, hard working people. Good feedback from supervisors and recognition for hard work.

ConsIntermittent communication from top level of management leaving people on the line somewhat in the dark about the direction of the company.

Advice to Senior ManagementMore straightforward communication and a clear idea of the corporate mission to senior employees will get them on board and provide better motivation.

A smart, evolving company with a relaxed, modern culture.

Office Manager (Current Employee)
Austin, TX

I have been working at Berkadia full-time for more than 3 years

ProsExcellent benefits, great opportunities to move up within the company, competitive salaries, well-structured corporate support, extensive benefits, flexible hours and a solidified reputation in the market

ConsDepending on your position (if you're a producer or analyst) you will work more than forty hours a week - but that's par for the course with either of those positions.

It was an okay but not a wonderful experience.

Anonymous Employee (Former Employee)

I worked at Berkadia full-time for less than a year

Pros9-6 job
Reasonable salary in the industry.

ConsManagement biasness
Monitoring of employee's activities by senior colleagues as in how long did one spend on a phone call, how many time in a day one uses phone during the office hours, whether the employee spent more than10 minutes ( the allotted time) during the break, etc.

Advice to Senior ManagementIdeally team leads and management should be concerned about the output of the employees instead of spying and working as a time tracker of employees.
Decisions regarding placing right employee in the right team should be made based on one's performance and competitiveness rather than team lead's biasness.
