    Pros

    1) You can shape your own work style. 2) Management only cares about the final deliverable, not how you do it

    Cons

    1) Middle management needs to be replaces completely 2) Policies and structures are changed too often sometimes within a single quarter 3) Too much negativity for a relatively young group of professionals

    Advice to Management

Be more open to criticism and feedback

    Pros

Good place to start, flexible working timing and the best canteen guy!

    Cons

Now where do i start - 1. Never take inputs from younger employees and if you do give ideas they think you are too cocky! 2. Have serious problems with North Indians 3. Executive body needs to act in an appropriate manner 4. They check search history of employees and access your accounts 5. For people at Beroe , Price is defined by just the Supply, since it is a 'Supply Chain company'. They won't even know the actual demand number, 99% of times it is Guess work. 6. If someone from the Executive body is pissed at you, they will go to lengths to bring you down, 7. Marketing is useless and spreads rumours about you and your experience. 8. It is mostly Gunda raj going on there with statements such as - 'you are wearing sweaters in Chennai weather, North Indians ke liye toh bastee ki baat hain' 9. Sorry to say and not meant for all, some of them went at lengths and once said Stay happy in 'Hindustan', i have no idea what the person meant by that 10. No action is taken , HR has ZERO power. 11. And even in department meetings people are talking in Tamil. 12. All surveys and inputs are known to the Management and who has sent the inputs. 13. Economics has two major concepts, demand and supply, which have variables defining their impact on the price of a certain entity, For Beroe everything is based on Supply. And prices move according to their Supply chain. 14. No inter department meetings are done, even if the commodities are inter-dependent, 15. They will start cursing you, if you went out of the way to understand the Macroeconomic fundamentals governing commodity markets which in hindsight mean greater downloads. 16. No standardized expert list and sometimes expert payments are not given on time, which leads to bad branding and a sad image 17. They believe in micro searching, Variability in pricing and change in applications of commodity is like ' Huh?' and we are like DUH! 18. They play dirty games at office if the person has a different perspective about work. 19. Y i can say all that - simply because i never failed at their tests.

    Advice to Management

Stop Politics, open up , be compassionate, understand and please ask the CEO to stay in the office and lead the company from the front rather than focus on Sales. By the way i am very sure you have a team to do exactly that.

  7. Ok for a fresher to get exposed to the world for procurement consulting. Not ok for experienced professionals

    Pros

Great work-life balance with 5 day work week and Flexi-timing. Good place to start your career in the world of procurement consulting, if you are a fresher. It is fun to work with a group of young people around - the energy is always there!!

    Cons

Very bad place for professionals to work as an analyst. All the Domain Leads, team leads of various verticals would be very young than you. So if you join as a analyst, be ready to be reporting to younger heads. The knowledge you gain in your vertical are completely dependent on your interaction with experts in your area and the secondary sources. So, you can imagine the reports that are sent to the clients!!! I seriously wonder if the clients even take time to look at the reports made by the analysts. Also, the AC's would be off after office timings and since most of the days you have to stay in office to attend to calls, be prepared to sweat it out!!! It's really pathetic that companies are still doing this to save money. Wonder if the CEO and clients stay in the company, they will switch off the AC's!@# Analyst progression to senior levels is made as idiotic as possible. You need to write articles, get a good score for your project, blah!! blah!! basically progression is possible only to a certain level - although I hear the management has started to address these.. People who are closer to top management and senior managers are generally the ones to get good appraisals and career progressions - and you guessed it right, they have been with the company for a longer duration!!

    Advice to Management

It's ok to encourage talents who have been with the company since the start. But, when you compare the knowledge of professionals and live industry experience, it dwarfs in comparison to the Leads' expertise. I wonder what practical experience do these leads have - they talk about BCCS, strategic sourcing, vendor consolidation, what not!! One word of advice - don't let professionals work under younger leads - make the leads as independent contributors. Don't have levels for analyst - Have the career progression as below: 1. Associate 2. Analyst 3. Lead 4. Manager, etc... Make it mandatory for employees to spend 1 year as associate, post which they can become analyst, something like that - with knowledge contributions tossed in. I believe the intelligent HR people can sort this out.. Keep AC's running at least till the employees start to leave. Treat people humanely. I believe true consulting happens by working with the client in client's location. That is when you can understand the crux of client problem. What you are doing here is just KPO work!!! Just tell people whom you are hiring that you are a KPO.

    Pros

    - Smart people can have a great work life balance, flexi timings and leave plans - Dedicated time for thought leadership related activities enables promoting analyst's name in the industry along with Beroe's (If people don't realise this they are incapable). - Freedom to innovate, be creative and good support from middle management for project execution and any work related problems.

    Cons

    - Senior management only cares about the employees/teams who have been in Beroe longer and are biased towards them for all awards, rewards, recognition and promotion.

    Advice to Management

    - Senior management and the CEO himself must stop being biased only to old employees and appreciate and recognise the new ones if they ever want to control the attrition rate and retain talent.
