    I worked at Bertucci's full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Good quality of life for a restaurant company.

    Cons

Upper management has forgotten what it's like to be in operations and continues to ask for better results even when you are running at maximum efficiency.

    Advice to Management

Upper management (District Managers and up) are more interested in looking at their computers and sending emails than working in operations. Many have lost their knowledge of how to make the food and how to run a shift.

I have been working at Bertucci's part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Friendly, teamwork-oriented environment. Everyone helps everyone. For servers, there's no "homework"- you take cash home at the end of the night and forget about work. From my understanding, all full-time workers receive decent benefits.

    Cons

Like any chain restaurant, corporate controls everything. Corporate incentives makes little sense. For example, online customer surveys carry an enormous amount of weight in corporate's eyes even though they suffer from participation bias (no one leaves a review when nothing went wrong).

    Advice to Management

I can't give advice to corporate because I've never interacted with them and have no idea what they do. Every manager I've worked with has been fine.

    I have been working at Bertucci's part-time

    Pros

Usually the people that you work with are personable and good to get along with because you are serving customers so they are generally nice

    Cons

Sometime they aren't nice and tips are dependent upon good service, and even sometimes that doesn't help

    Advice to Management

Try to be an understading boss at all times because to be honest some people you cant control there behavior and that is really the only disadvantage.

    Pros

Good staff, usually genuine and friendly locals and college kids.

    Cons

Awful management, asked for you to scrub the floors and grime from tiles. They drove you like slaves even though you get paid nothing.

    Advice to Management

Be a little less dictatorial and drop the old school management approach.

    Pros

Good employee meal discount, hours are good, early closing time, very team oriented staff, delicious food

    Cons

Overstaffed on slow shifts, a lot of children, strict on uniforms, management takes advantage of servers for busy work while barely making hourly pay

    Advice to Management

management needs to be more respectful of staff and treat employees a lot better

    Pros

great working environment friendly people, made a lot of friends while I was working Has the potential to make really good money

    Cons

Hours can be long and the "side work" takes a lot of time at the end of the night Managers can make or break your experience some are really great and others will make your busy night a lot worse. Often understaffed so you en up doing twice as much work.

    Advice to Management

Be more friendly and stay fully staffed

    Pros

Flexible Hours, Decent Pay, Room to move up in the company if you want that. Cross train around the kitchen.

    Cons

Bad Management, Selfish managers who only think about their own pockets. Could care less about the well being of employees.

I worked at Bertucci's (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Great authentic Italian food. Scratch kitchen. Fresh vegetables roasted daily in the brick oven. Sauces made in small batches. Pizza is awesome.

    Cons

Five different CEO's steering the ship in five different directions. Too many ego's to deal with in upper management. Concept is struggling to survive.

    Advice to Management

Be careful because one day you are a valuable employee and the next you are expendable. The concept was never broken however, they tried to change it to something it's not which is a pasta house as opposed to a pizza place.
