Pros
Their like a family, and everyone works as a team. It's a fun enviroment and employees are given great training! I like that after working there 3 weeks I had no questions about how to do all aspects of my job. It's a company that I feel the need to go above and beyond for everyday.
Cons
I don't really have any complaints. A lot of people do find it difficult to hit your 20% goal on services when working up front, and to get the credit card apps in. Personally, I find that I have NO trouble what-so-ever as long as you effectively communicate the benefits to the customer.
Advice to Senior Management
You guys are great, only thing I would say as far as advice goes, is more time alloted for employees to help other employees struggling in sales of services. I was able to help a co-worker raise his numbers just by spending half a shift pitching the GSBTP Plans along with him until he understood what he needed to be communicating to the customer.
Pros
This is a very fun, creative and respectful place to work. Even though Best Buy has been getting a lot of bad criticism lately, it is BY FAR one of the best companies I have worked for.
Cons
There is too much going on at once... Corporate needs to become more streamlined. Some new initiatives role out without full understanding.
Advice to Senior Management
Figure it out! We need to excel at Customer Service and DESTROY the competition with price and selection! We will ALWAYS be number 1!
Pros
the discount is very good, and the people you will meet are people you can hang out with. most going to college, so over all good atmosphere.
Cons
they will make you offer the credit card and black tie to every one. Even if the plan is 50 percent of the product itself.
Pros
hours were good management was ok as well. most jobs have that one.
Cons
no real complaints to be honest
Pros
Great work enviroment, some amazing information on products. Helpful staff, employees treat everyone with just as much respect as they do with customers.
Cons
Bad judgement on the pricing of items. poor ware house stafffing, nothing was ever in the right places around the store.
Advice to Senior Management
DO not choose favorites for the company. keep everyone in like with each other and you will reap the benefits.
Pros
People, Pay and the discount
Cons
Immaturity of how some managers handle things
Advice to Senior Management
Dont play favorites
Pros

Cons

Advice to Senior Management
Nothing he is a great manager of best buy in Hampton virginia I would like this manager to follow me everywhere I go to work
Pros
I was employed for Best Buy over a five-year period. The company offered me opportunities for growth, and I was promoted from a sales associate to a technician position. Compensation appeared fair, as I believe my pay was based largely on my performance, as opposed to educational background. Management, in general, exhibited good leadership as well. Overall, I was satisfied while employed for Best Buy.
Cons
As with any retail environment, work schedules are somewhat inflexible and are based upon the current needs of the company. I viewed this as a fair business practice, but this environment may not be suitable for individuals needing a great deal of flexibility due to other commitments.
Advice to Senior Management
The leadership at Best Buy should continue its model of empowering its employees. This will assist in maintaining its strong corporate culture.
Pros
Very good discount. excellent opportunities to move up with the company. You get to meet alot of great people. For a college and second job pay is not that bad.
Cons
The only bad things about working at best buy is the long hours. working on the weekends and on the holidays is not something that liked to do, especially in the future when i have a family
Advice to Senior Management
Keep up the good work. The only thing i would change is try to understand that we don't control how many people walk in the door. we cant force people to buy things. Best buy should consider creating an incentive program for it's employees
Pros
Customers and the fast paced environment. Being around technology all day is fun and exciting, you get to see the latest stuff all the time!
Cons
All the garbage that you have to put up with, I have been here four plus years and every year it gets worse. There are virtually no opportunites to advance, they are beginning to down size stores and cut management. There are only a quarter of supervisor spots left from what there used to be. Basically Best Buy cannot keep up with the competition, leveraging all their profits through Best Buy Moblie. I promise you this in the next five years look for Best Buy to close larger stores and open smaller community stores and stand alone Best Buy Mobile.
Advice to Senior Management
Don't listen to coroporate, they may do the research but it is up to you to meet the needs for the demographics in your area. Ya'll are a bunch of yuppies.
