Pros
fun place to work. Enjoy learning about technology and teaching it to people.
Cons
Advancement opportunities can be limited at times and sometimes take awhile.
Advice to Senior Management
Be sure to develop people so that they can prospure within the company.
Pros
Flexible hours, fair wage, fun environment and cool swag/discounts.
Cons
Fast paced, sell sell sell, management over zealous about sales figures. On your feet all day and lifting computers can be heavy.
Advice to Senior Management
Don't be so hard on employees about sales, let the sales happen naturally instead of forcing customers to buy items using misleading information.
Pros
worked around my schedule, good discount
Cons
stale environment, not very forward thinking
Advice to Senior Management
take care of your people first
Pros
Great flexible hours and work schedule, except you do not get the weekends off, fun enviroment if you do not take things seriously.
Cons
You need to know someone, or be on the inside circle, there is general favoritism and advancement is not based on actual ability; only your ability to be liked by management. The sky is the limit.
Advice to Senior Management
Management should be more strictly controller by the district staff and perhaps they should more tightly enforce rules over favoritism.
Pros
Great employees, most of the people I met while working there became some of my good friends. Some of them I hope to know for the rest of my life. Pay is good compared to other retailers.
Cons
Management is very self absorbed and arrogant. They love to promote young within this company at the store level. Most of the management are too young and were rushed to the top and developed a very large ego along the way. In order to get where they are you will have to kiss major ass, if thats your thing than by all means work at Best Buy. ( and i know that there are politics at every company, but much more so here. It is like you are in high school again!)
Advice to Senior Management
Respect your employees, they are the only reason this company exists! The people that on a daily basis are getting chewed out by customers for petty reasons are the ones helping you get your big bonuses every month.
Pros
I get to keep up with all the latest technolgies.
Cons
The amount of pressure put on the sales associates to get the customer the "complete soulution" (get as many accessories and services and humanly possible) is very high. We have all the tactics of commision sales without the commision.

Pros
If you want to either have a job with a great discount or career potential then here is your place. When I first started I did it as a job for now, but after a couple of years now I love everything about it. Everyday I learn something new, not just about the technology, but in business and how this multi-billion dollar company works to make it happen. I love technology and teaching everyday people what things are, how they work, and how it could benefit their lives. One of my favorite things about working here is that there is no commission, its not pressure sales, and your not going to get fired for not getting everything on every transaction (although it makes you look better and feels good).
Cons
Being yelled at sometimes by customers, smelling very bad breathe and body odor at times, or dealing with some very incompetent learners. Since it is technology and it changes so fast and so often you do have some backlash by people trying to buy something they like. You need to be patient or you will lose your mind with some people.
Advice to Senior Management
In my store nothing, they are without a doubt the absolute best set of managers and leaders I have ever worked with and for. I have worked with good leaders before, but never a group this strong as a whole. Three thumbs up!
Pros
Good place to work. People are great despite the management being wishy-washy. Good exercise if you work during stocking nights.
Cons
Management tended to be clueless. They would tell you to do something one way and then change their minds about the task after you had already completed it. High stress sales environment without the commission. PSPs and the PRPs are useless except for high-end electronics but management pushed them on everything.
Advice to Senior Management
Get ready of PSPs and PRPs for low-end electronics and only offer for high-end products. They are expensive and not worth it.
