Sales Associate (Current Employee) Houston, TX

ProsGreat discount, good co workers, okay management

ConsPay, no weekends off, unrealistic goals

Advice to Senior ManagementIf the customer says no, then it's no. Don't hassle the employee for not making a giant sale every sale. Not everyone on earth is rich.

Great for high school and college attendees

Customer Service Representative (Former Employee) Houston, TX

Pros- most people who work there are laid back
    - hours always available

Cons- can be very cliquish amongst management
    - black friday is like a religious holy day to them
    - regardless of what management does, you will be held accountable for their actions as well as your own as a CSR
    - pay sucks and now has cap

Pleasant and exciting until a change in management

Media Specialist (Former Employee) Baytown, TX

    ProsGreat employee discount
    Terrific co-workers
    Flexible hours

    ConsLack of communication at times.
    Not always great leadership
    Lack of product

Advice to Senior ManagementTry and implement more of what your employees would see on the sales floor. We interact with customers on a daily basis. We know what sales and what doesn't. The stores operate completely differently now as they seem to be more along the lines of Apple Stores. They don't have the same lovable atmosphere that Best Buy used to have.

Good place to work, but you sacrifice your lifestyle, you'll work EVERY weekend and EVERY holiday

Systems Designer (Current Employee) Houston, TX

ProsHuge company, good benefits, opportunity for advancement, and a very well structured company.

ConsWork long hours and have horrible work/life balance, your family will suffer. Compensation is not suitable for duties performed. Very political.

Advice to Senior ManagementI don't like having to be political in order to advance. Also my family never see's me, I'm always exhausted, and I barely make enough to keep on the lights.

    Great Co-Workers..Horrible Company Structure

Advanced Repair Agent (ARA) Geek Squad (Current Employee) Houston, TX

ProsEmployee Discounts, Benefits, Work within your availability .

ConsStuck working Holidays and Weekends, Company is extremely unorganized and it seems every 6 months to a year they restructure how departments are ran. Corporate has no clue what actually goes on in the physical stores. Raises are a joke, multiple long term hourly employees report getting bare minimal raises even though their quality of work is above average. I'm talking .15 cents to .35 cents. Underpaid computer technicians.

Advice to Senior ManagementCorporate needs to actually send someone to physically work in stores for a month before just deciding to make changes without testing thoroughly before doing so . Get rid of the management that doesn't put forth effort in helping out on the sales floor from time to time. Managers that sit in the admin office all day , everyday are not useful to the company.
