I worked at Best Buy part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

They really teach and prepare you to get onto the sales floor. Everyone was really nice about helping me out. My Supervisor and lead going in were really nice. Flexible work hours and generally always let me pick up extra shifts. Pay was above minimum wage too.

    Cons

There was/is a manager at my store that basically lead many people to leave. Sad thing is the GM doesn't realize it. New shift schedule every 2 weeks

    Advice to Management

GM's please recognize when managers are getting too buddy buddy with leads. It causes discipline issues.

I have been working at Best Buy part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Nice family spirit in the precinct I work. Current team is committed to do good work while having a good time. Probably best job in a retail chain.

    Cons

I see it as a temporary job. Good for 2-3 years. Hardly something you would want to do for a longer time

I worked at Best Buy (More than a year)

    Pros

    Always some interesting to meet.

    Cons

More of a job supplier than a career opportunity.

    Advice to Management

Promote from within instead of filling open spots with whomever you see fit at the moment. Train your employees to be future leaders of the company not just spot holders.

I have been working at Best Buy full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

    Discount, Works with your schedule

    Cons

No accountability and pay could be better.

    Advice to Management

Look at who's making the company money and give them something for doing so. Not talking about people who do their job, but people who go above and beyond

    Pros

They worked with my school schedule and the system for requesting time off was easy to use. Lots of opportunities for advancement - I started out as a cashier, then moved to customer service and eventually sales. The discount is 5% above cost so sometimes it's significant (e.g. when buying the Best Buy brand) other times there was no discount (e.g. most computers, TVs, things they don't make money on alone). Overall a good company to work for.

    Cons

You will be expected to push their protection plans. The pay isn't great. As a part-timer you only get a 30 minute lunch. Having to work Black Friday is pretty much awful.

    Pros

Met a lot of great people and was almost like a little community.

    Cons

    Advice to Management

    spread the wealth

    Pros

    Cons

Lack of customer service sometimes Big Push on selling company insurance plans

    Advice to Management

Fix Geeksquad for Mobile, it doesn't make sense to push something that is no longer the superior product.
