Pros
Great work enviroment, some amazing information on products. Helpful staff, employees treat everyone with just as much respect as they do with customers.
Cons
Bad judgement on the pricing of items. poor ware house stafffing, nothing was ever in the right places around the store.
Advice to Senior Management
DO not choose favorites for the company. keep everyone in like with each other and you will reap the benefits.
Pros
Time off is very flexible, pay is alright starting at $9 for a young kid.
Cons
disrespectful management, to move up in the company you must be willing to be a brown nosier and become 100% best buy. If your going to school full time don't expect much from the company.
Advice to Senior Management
Needs to be more respectful to there employees. hire managers that a capable to do the job NOT based on favoritism or on how someone looks.
Pros
Decent pay
Employee Discount
Cool coworkers

Cons
No room for improvement
Unfair treatment
Stripped of hours
No recognizance of your job well done
Advice to Senior Management
Take more time to put into your employees for improvement instead of waiting for them to fail and have a reason to fire them.
Pros
itplacenta is very fun. you get to meet a lot of new people and their flexible with hours
Cons
the pay isnt too great its a little difficult to move up to management
Advice to Senior Management
show more recognition to employees and help out more on the sales floor when it's busy
Pros
-Co-workers are very friendly
-Benefits are pretty good
-Hours are fair typically
-not many other pros to be completely honest
Cons
-Terrible management
-All managers or supervisors care about is if you get customers to buy protection or sign up for a credit card
-No break!
-Rude customers all day
-Terribly slow computer system (POS)
-They look at blue shirt employees as nobodies
-I can't stand working at Best Buy, looking for a new job right now
-So hard to request a day off or take time off. Manager will always need a specific reason and if it's not absolutely perfect, then they won't give you your requested time.
Advice to Senior Management
-Care more for employees
-Motivate employees instead of hounding them
-Let employees have a break, after all, it is a state law!
-Respond faster to our needs at the register, so that customers don't get so upset
Pros
Fun, fast paced environment. Employees are amazing and we genuinely have fun. It is a relaxed atmosphere but with a sense of urgency at all times to get to customers.
Cons
Long long hours, taking time off is a dirty word. Customers are absolutely terrible. Most customers we have to interact with are flat out rude and feel a sense of entitlement. We sell electronics and we have customers that act like total children when they don't get their way. I know this is industry wide but I have never seen it this bad in 8 years.
Advice to Senior Management
Keep up with the good communication between corporate and management. One thing to remember is that this company has always been employee focused and in the last few months things have started to change.
Pros
Industry aligned pay, health benefits for full time employees, employee stock matching program
Cons
Hard to advance, certain air of favoritism
Advice to Senior Management
Some store show favoritism and felt like there would be little room to move up at times. However, overall, it is a great company to work for.
Pros
The products, people and workplace environment.
Cons
Pay could be more competitive in the lower tiers.
Advice to Senior Management
Lets be more innovating than what we are doing know.
Pros
Discounts were the only perks of the job
Cons
they take advantage of customers and only care about profits.
Advice to Senior Management
Respect your employees
Pros
My store has recently replaced four managers with at least two more on the chopping block. The reason for such a big change is because all of the employees were finally sick of the incompetence and the company actually responded. This needed to happen months ago but it's a good thing it finally did.
If you work hard and make sure your leadership knows you do, you'll get the pay, time and benefits you want. You can't just expect 40+ hours and paid time off your second week, it takes time to prove yourself.
You get a lot of free stuff too if you know where to look. That's a huge help when you're trying to build your own computer, learn about something new or just be a nerd.
Cons
Management gives whinny employees too much room. Having babies only sell whenever they feel like it only hurts the store and company.
Important information doesn't get down to sales employees in time a lot of the times. None of them want to utilize the information outlets the company provides though, so it isn't all leadership/company fault.
Advice to Senior Management
If more leadership actually listened to our CEO the company would be better off. My GM told me his first week It wasn't my supervisors job to coach/train or listen to me. It wasn't my supervisors job to give me direction or help me with my job. Right after that was a meeting which showed a video of Brian Dunn saying the exact opposite.
