    Pros

Leadership are awesome. Coworkers are wonderful.

    Cons

Retail schedule. No weekends free. Salary not spec to job title.

I enjoyed working here but the managers had favorites which ultimately annoyed me. The pay was good and the team morale.

I have been working at Best Buy part-time (more than a year)

    Pros

It is a great environment with a good discount on products. The co workers are all very nice but some managers are lazy and it was too noticeable.

    Cons

The managers had favorites and I thought that was unfair. Sometimes when the cashiers wouldn't make sales as far as selling the extended warranties the managers would get annoyed but we never got parsed for extremely good work only reprimanded for negative work.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Some management need to be a little more courtous of the people "beneath them"

    I worked at Best Buy

    Pros

Flexible schedule, store discount, stock discounts, health plans, tuition reimbursement, and yearly reviews for a raise.

    Cons

Corporate Management is always changing how to run the company on a store level. The expectations are set too high so there is a lot of turn around in the upper management.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Don’t change the way we sell every quarter, stop using silly movies and gimmicky sales tactics to train us for one quarter and then realize it doesn’t work so you implement a new plan next quarter. It is an unnecessary use of training time and causes confusion.

I have been working at Best Buy part-time (more than a year)

    Pros

There are many opportunities for growth within the company and chances to grow as a sales person.

    Cons

High turnover led to a difficult experience because changing management provided different SOP than previous management and caused conflict within the store.

I have been working at Best Buy (less than a year)

    Pros

Excellent hierarchy in store. Everyone very helpful in helping you to succeed. Education process very easy, although I believe it would be better if there was more vendor interaction besides Samsung and HP who go above and beyond in sharing information about product lines.

    Cons

Biggest Con I can think of is mainly that the sales expectation of corporate is skewed departmentally...

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Provide more hands on demonstrations of equipment. E-learning is wonderful... but learning electronics is as much about playing with the gear is spewing statistics. Being able to demonstrate what equipment can do will sell equipment faster to those that don't already have a concrete idea of what they are looking at and what the core statistics represent. (For example... how do you demonstrate the benefit of Solid State Hard Drives over Conventional if you can't see how they react when tasked?)

I worked at Best Buy part-time (less than a year)

    Pros

If you like meeting new people everyday then this is pretty great. You have to get to know people in order to help them find the right electronics to fit their lifestyle and if you like getting to know people this should be easy.

    Cons

A lot of pressure to bug people you know have already been greeted in the store. There is also a lot of pressure to make sales.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Understand that when people come into the store they don't need to be greeted by a person in every department. I know people who don't like to go into best but because of this.
