I worked at Best Western as a contractor (less than an year)

    Pros

Good pay for temporary work, good work-life balance if attending school and a overall happy atmosphere that makes work somewhat easier

    Cons

terrible quota standards that are completely realistic based on the training provided, short breaks that don't work with the layout of the office and harsh rules that don't allow flexibility.

I have been working at Best Western full-time (less than an year)

    Pros

as long as you are not working when the gm is there it is a pretty good place to work. if the gm is not there you are treated as a human being and respected.

    Cons

if the gm is working he down grades woman, tells people they are replaceable, goes above all the other managers and changes things that he knows nothing about. 2 words... horrible gm!!

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

need a new gm if you want more employees and dedicated employees!

    Pros

Best western is by far the best company to work for.

    Cons

Raises need to be more constant and a yearly bonus would be nice but its not required I just feel like you should make your employees feel like there wanted and appreciated.

I worked at Best Western full-time (less than an year)

    Pros

More downtime and able to customize your own cubicle. Not as high of call volume compared to other departments, better pay than other departments. $11/hr and almost guaranteed 38hrs/wk.

    Cons

Terrible training, like really bad wasting time when we could have been learning training. Had 2 instructors, one who was old and not even used to the newer protocols, and the other very knowledgeable, and constantly correcting the first instructor. After training, was not even remotely ready for the burden of this job. Not only do you fight with customers, but managers at the hotels will break you down so bad, you have to have thick skin for this job.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Training needs complete restructuring, ensure we are learning and understanding instead of just moving things along so we can eat cake at the end.

    Pros

I wish I could think of something

    Cons

Hostile and short staffed. Huge Turnover of employees!

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Get your finger on the pulse of reality in your shop
The managers do not seek the truth. Their supervisors can lie through their insecure teeth and that would be OK. Their word is accepted regardless because they are a notch above the common worker.
