    Pros

Good company, nice benefits. They seem to be headed in the right direction. Was easy to grow from front desk to front office manager to AGM. Just work hard.

    Cons

Not much growth potential in immediate area. Been under construction for too long. A bonus program would be nice as well.

I worked at Best Western full-time

    Pros

As each property is individually owned and operated, I can't vouch for an across-the-board evaluation, but here goes: I worked full time, 3rd shift and got 3 weeks vacation a year. As a full-time employee, I had steady employment even during the slow seasons. As 3rd shift, I had plenty of downtime and little coworker interaction.

    Cons

The 3rd shift was social-life ruining and vaguely dangerous. Not terrific room for advancement, and very little in terms of raises (sub-cost of living adjustment).

    Advice to Management

Greater communication would have helped greatly; a simple group memo would have prevented many a headache and angry customer.

I have been working at Best Western full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

*Perks - discount on rooms at any Best Western, free breakfast depending on the shift that you work (11 pm-7 am or 7 am - 3 pm) *Great coworkers - You really get to know your peers, and share lots of laughs and memories *Job is fairly easy, once you are trained and know what your doing (like any job). *Vacation request are usually approved once submitted; does not matter if you a just one month on the job.

    Cons

*This hotel does not do direct deposit on paydays. *Hours completed sometimes does not match with what you have and they have on file. *Hotel is very old, and looks as such, which guest complain about.

    Advice to Management

Talk to your employees in all departments to find out why people are quitting so quickly, which will help to maintain employees for years going forward versus just for a couple of months.

I worked at Best Western full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Management is very undestanding and helpful. There is always room for advancement if you try hard. Free food sometimes and a great atmosphere.

    Cons

It can get pretty dramatic sometimes and there are policies that don't always make sense that even management can't fully clarify.

    Advice to Management

    Keep it up!

I have been working at Best Western full-time

    Pros

pretty straight forward job. clear expectations for the job. friendly workers. stable paychecks and hours. the uniforms are actually pretty decent.

    Cons

customer complaints about everything you have no control over and management does nothing to change it. the pay is more than minimum wage but it still isn't enough to survive on.

    Advice to Management

If managers could be a little more realistic when it comes to rates on the weekends that would be lovely. It's hard to sell a room for as much as they would like.
