I have been working at Best Western full-time (less than an year)

    Pros

The hours are great being a full-time Night Auditor, no one bothers you, it's close nit and a fun environment. The customers are great, the computer systems is simple.

    Cons

Because each one is individually owned, the rules do vary. Drama does happen within the employees. There is bad communication amongst employees, if one gets in trouble they get EVERYONE in trouble.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Be more clear. Train people better. Listen to ALL of your employees not just your favorites.

I have been working at Best Western part-time (more than an year)

    Pros

The owners of the particular Best Western I worked at were dedicated to making the best experience possible for the guests so that culture made it a wonderful place to work.

    Cons

Holidays were always difficult because everybody wants holiday time off but there always has to be somebody there 24 hours a day 365 days a year. This is not the fault of the company or the owners, but it could be viewed as a con to working in the hospitality industry.

Former Employee - Front Desk Agent in Prineville, OR

I worked at Best Western full-time (more than an year)

    Pros

There really were no benefits to this job. The pay was lousy, the work conditions were lousy and you felt like you were walking on eggshells around the owners.

    Cons

The owners (the Priday's) micro managed the hotel. They had two manager running it but they stuck their noses in everyday. If they took a dislike to you then it was only a matter of time until you lost your job. When the average turnover in jobs is every few months, it should be a clue that these people are impossible to work for.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Remember where you are from.
