I have been working at Best Yet Market

    Pros

There are not that many pros to best market other than it is a paycheck each week. In fact there are more cons to best market.

    Cons

Anything that any of the employees do to make best market a better place for customers and employees is shoot down. It is a disgusting, dirty, and dangerous place to work. There have been issues of physical and sexual harassment, and assault. When reported to management it is not remedied. I do not recommend working for this company.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Take time to talk with the customers and employees because they are the backbone of your business. Take a good look at who is running things for you. Try more advertising and take a very good and long look at the stores.

    Pros

    Easy Promotions
Get away with pretty much anything
    For upper management: nice pay/raises
    Very flexible/understanding

    Cons

For front line employees: bad raises
Management gives in WAY too easily
    Communication barriers
Need to worry about the older stores before they open more

I worked at Best Yet Market part-time for more than a year

    Pros

Vacation/personal day accrues regardless of full time or part time.
    Free turkey during Thanksgiving.
    Christmas gifts.

    Cons

The average increase in salary is $ .25 once a year and you have to keep on top of your manager for the yearly raise or you won't get it.

I was hired part time and worked full time hours most of the month, then the last week of the month they would cut me down under 30 to keep me part time.

Twice I was pressured into choosing days off for vacation, only to find out I was working anyway the chosen days and the management knew nothing about me having a day off.

None of the managers know what the others are doing.

I and others I work with were abused verbally by customers for things we had no control over.

They didn't care about your day off, if they called you to come in and you couldn't the manager demanded to know what was so important.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Making sure your employees working there is just as important as making sure the customers come back. I, as a former employee, refuse to shop there if only because I know how they treat the staff.

I have been working at Best Yet Market part-time for more than a year

    Pros

Managers are understanding and easy to get along with. The people you work with are terrific as well. You get a paycheck every week.

    Cons

Working with the public. Its not always bad, but people are impatient, generally unintelligent and rude when they can't get what they want. Rules and guidelines are unclear and often change (practically over night). No overtime.

Good experience for a summer job, but not a very interesting or marketable job, and low pay.

I worked at Best Yet Market part-time

    Pros

Higher a lot of employees, including seasonal college students
    Gained experience in customer service
    Somewhat flexible schedule

    Cons

    Poor employee retention
New employees often have to help open and close store
Lack of communication between corporate and store workers.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Try to get people to work for a bigger cause.
Offer some sort of program for willing employees to get on a track to management
    Performance rewards

I have been working at Best Yet Market

    Pros

It is a paycheck at the end of the week

    Cons

Horrible pay, no growth opportunities, rude and disrespectful managers. Very high turn over rate. Managers do not care for their employees at all......Store manager loves to fire people for silly reasons.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Hire better managers, increase hourly wage.....have a better human resource department( they do not help)...more growth opportunities.
