    Pros

Great mission, they are passionate about what they do, have a good reputation in the community, you get a lot of time off even from the start of working there (a few weeks at least), offers flextime for your schedule

    Cons

Pay is a bit low but the benefits are pretty great so it makes up for a lot of it

I worked at Bethany Christian Services as an intern (more than a year)

    Pros

My supervisor allowed me to be a part of many projects, including some that weren't her's. She encouraged me to get as much experience during my year as possible.
I worked with refugees youth. Many of my co-workers had been refugees themselves, so staff was very understanding of clients and patient too.

    Cons

Not a lot of direction from supervisor; sup. only met with me once a month - if she remembered.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Some sups (although not mine) were hired merely for their Master's degree - had little experience in the field. This sometimes lead to a quick burn-out.

I worked at Bethany Christian Services as an intern (less than a year)

    Pros

They have great co-workers who are eager to help you grow and learn. They are also very passionate about their jobs and helping the children. They are very appreciative of all the hard work you do.

    Cons

When you are an intern you do not get paid. It is the only thing that I can think of as a con but most places do not pay there interns.

I have been working at Bethany Christian Services full-time

    Pros

Great work/life balance, time off perks, benefits and personal review system.

    Cons

Very political and corporate for a non-profit. Also, you must sign a statement of faith, whether you agree with all beliefs/policies or not. Upper level management are paid a ridiculous amount for being considered non-profit. Not all profits are put toward ministry.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Stop being so corporate and more of a non-profit ministry

I worked at Bethany Christian Services

    Pros

The local office was a wonderful environment; always felt like I was part of a family

    Cons

corporate office, not so much...i don't feel like they really cared about their employees, when they would come visit, which was not often, they were very standoffish and i felt like they looked down on the employees

I have been working at Bethany Christian Services part-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

if you want to work in ministry, this is it...

    Cons

very poor pay with little clarity on performance and direction

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

listen to you employees, develop you HR and offer skill development/require it...also stop centralizing your branding; your marketing department is not aware of all community and social aspects in all places...Let your teams in those areas work, inform and give input...You act too much like a pushy big brother.

I have been working at Bethany Christian Services

    Pros

I enjoy my actual job and knowing that I am helping and making a difference in someone's life.

    Cons

The respect from Management and Supervisors is very little. They tout that "Family" is important and comes first, yet when I was on maternity leave, I was questioned as to why I was taking the full12 weeks off....UNPAID.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Listen to your employees....respect goes a long way.
