Pros
Very small. IT shop is 2 people. Was 6 with recently hired/laid off employees. Work environment was good. Location is close to Metro Station.
Cons
The company is unstable. Laid off several people including 3 recently hired (3 weeks or less). One person started Monday and was let go Friday.
Advice to Senior Management
Don't hire people and lay them off within a week. Don't expect employees to stay at 50 percent wages without compensation in the long term.
Pros
The people are nice. The office is in a great location.
Cons
The company is falling apart. I was hired in their IT department and two weeks later the company laid off all of its technology workers, including myself. In fact, one person relocated more than half-way across the country after they told him they would help with the moving costs. For a company that is solely dependent on its Web site for business, you would think they would try to keep it up-to-date; it has not been updated since 2001!
Advice to Senior Management
Don't try growing your company by over 30% by hiring a bunch of people if you don't have the money. And don't count on a "contract that is coming through" either. What about the old saying, "Don't count your chickens before they hatch"???
