    Pros

Big 5 is one of those companies that gives people that chance that they need to earn some work experience and they are the definition of an energetic work environment that. Not to mention managers are very understanding when an employee needs to take a day off and will rarely ever say no unless need help badly for the day you asked off for.

    Cons

Sometimes can cut hours for odd reasons.

    Pros

    *Awesome coworkers
    *Great first-time job
    *Employee discount is so-so
    *No experience needed

    Cons

*Time of Shifts subject to extreme change weekly
*Total hours subject to extreme increase/decrease weekly
*Minimum wages with extremely small and seldom opportunity for raises
*Little to no chance of career development

    Advice to Management

It's neither fair or mature to play favorites in the workplace. Return/exchange policy is ridiculous! It allows customers to bring back any item, whether worn, damaged, broken, etc.; as long as there's a receipt, they will be reimbursed or given a brand new item.

At the time, they paid a little bit more than minimum wage for a simple cashier position. There was room for advancement.

    Cons

    Poor management, sexist, unorganized sales.

    Advice to Management

Make sure your store is prepped and ready for the next day.

    Pros

They'll hire anyone who seems to have their stuff together. You can get a job there if your really hurting to find a job.

    Cons

...They'll hire anyone who seems to have their stuff together. They pay so little that no one stays there for a long time, their employees are a revolving glass door. They expect you to do all this work even though they start you off at a low pay and give little to no raises.

    Advice to Management

Pay your employees a littler more and you might have to hire every person who applies.

The environment of the store was comfortable and the staff worked well together. I had a good guidline to work by as a salesperson there with sufficint information to help customers.

    Cons

There was little communication from upper management about any evaluation of our work or outside business operations of the particular franchise where i was working.
