Current Employee – been working at BigCommerce full-time for more than a year
Pros – Just moved to a nice office, health insurance is free for employees, snacks, coffee, beer on Fridays most of the people are great.
Cons – The company is truly a joke. Its not a real company. Odds are the entire thing is going down the pishadoo. VC funding has propped it up to mask serious issues. Its basically a front for a few people to get rich, but those execs/VPs, etc. failed to learn even the most fundamental aspects of the business. Therefore, they make egregious mistakes. The business probably won't survive so they only want uber positive people that pay no attention to the glaring issues. All of the positive reviews are written by recruiters so please do not be fooled. They work people to the bone for hours on end and sell "culture" the entire time. It is really funny but unless you want to make a joke of your career don't sign on here.
Advice to Senior Management – Get it together people.

Pros – An amazing culture. Total transparency from the executive team on down, and management that commends hard work, gives credit when due, and rewards employees accordingly. An exciting company to be around.
Cons – We're a bit cramped in our current office, but we will be moving to larger facilities soon.
Advice to Senior Management – Keep it up!

Former Employee – worked at BigCommerce full-time for more than a year
Pros – Free food, flexible-ish work hours, good co-workers & bosses in the support department, good OT & holiday policy for us ninjas. Double monitors on computers.
Cons – Hokey organization, hefts culture as a selling point, but the culture is one of a cult rather than a hip company. Strange decision-making process by the higher-ups and way too much secrecy and promises with no resolution.
No, I would not recommend this company to a friend – I'm not optimistic about the outlook for this company

Pros – Fantastic culture, rapid growth, excellent team, dynamic industry, awesome opportunities. High energy environment full of people who are very passionate about the company and our clients.
Cons – If you're looking for a regular, steady, boring 9-5 job this is not the right place for you...
Advice to Senior Management – Keep going out of your way to make this a fantastic company to work for with an incredible team culture.

Pros – Yes, this is an awesome place to work! Everyone is very friendly and inviting. Stress is kept at a minimum by not overworking us. Every week we get constructive meetings that keeps us aware of current issues and updates. The benefits are great and the pay is great.
Cons – There is not much that I can say here. The hiring process was a little hectic, but this is necessary to get quality employees.
Advice to Senior Management – Keep doing what you are doing!

Pros – Smiles from entry to exit, management with listening ears and glass rooms ( seriously ), Amazing product years ahead of the rest, kicking it into overdrive, and pretty soon we will be setting the speed limit signs.
There are more Benefits than i could actually list, but some of them are, Health/Life/Accidental ins, ChildCare, Education reimbursement, Food (omg, the food- Breakfast taco's 1st Monday/mth. Lunch brought in on Tuesdays. Coffee, tea, milk, juice, and sodas everyday! Beer on Fridays. Random various cupcakes , cookies, snacks, chips and dip.), paid outings, celebrations, Friday Game times, Video Game machines (arcade and console) to be used whenever, Weekly meetings for your department and Weekly meetings for the company giving us a great line of communication between management and Front line departments without taking up too much of our production time. Along these lines, one thing I really love about this company is that management listens, they listen to my concerns and ideas. Not all of my ideas influence the changes we see around here, but i can see my influence directly in the company and product. This is fulfilling. The company is transparent with it's employees. The management is personable and participates with us in gaming and extra curricular activities. the Employees form a cohesive bond in and out of work. We are BigCommerce
Cons – The water cooler is broken. We have reported this and the part is on order, but we don't have an ETA as of yet.
Sometimes its really cold in here, you should expect to keep a sweatshirt or light jacket available at any given time.
Advice to Senior Management – Keep up the great work! You are leading us into greatness.

Current Employee – been working at BigCommerce full-time for more than a year
Pros – The company is pretty particular about the people it hires. The reason being is that it takes one bad apple to bring down a team. We focus as much on culture as we do on skill set and want to make sure to keep an eye on this as we continue to grow. Management is very transparent and there are not a whole lot of secrets as to where we are, what the plan is,etc. Our medical insurance is taken care of, we get free lunch every week not to mention all the snacks and drinks that are there every day. We are empowered to get involved whether it be for fun events, volunteerism, etc.
Cons – There are going to be things that need to be fixed in any company. When issues arise, while they can't always be fixed overnight, management is pretty good about taking a look at it and making the change. Comp structure for sales was a perfect example. It needed to be more competitive, we needed some time take a look at it and get a new one in place, and it got fixed. The only thing I wish is that pay were a little higher overall, but as we continue to grow we will continue to get more competitive.
Advice to Senior Management – Better communication as to when you are going to be in and out of the office for those that need you to complete tasks.

Current Employee – been working at BigCommerce
Pros – A new team of executives have been put into place that is awesome! They are all accomplished and smart, and while they want to grow the company, are dedicated to keeping a fun, laid back culture. Compensation has improved drastically, and new opportunities and positions are constantly being created. The office is comfortable, for the most part the people are truly great and the benefits are top-notch. The industry has unlimited potential and the company is poised to do great things. There have been a lot of new hires but the company still feels like a family in many ways.
Cons – Anything that used to be a detriment has been considered by senior management and honestly fixed to a surprisingly good resolution...better than expected. The only downside is its a start up; and things change constantly so you need to hold on because its a wild ride. But while some people do consider constant changes negative, for the people that love start up life you realize you would get bored if your workplace operated like every other stagnant company!
Advice to Senior Management – No advice, just thanks, and I'm excited to see where this thing can go with you!

Former Employee – worked at BigCommerce
Pros – product is easy to learn and co-workers are friendly and personable - that is about where it ends
Cons – Pretty much everything else. They treat people like lotal dirt and do not appreciate anyone. They claim that their people are their best assets yet they pay them like they are in a sweat shop. They flat out lied to me when I interviewed and asked how much I could make. Then when it was brought up at a later point they lied again and kept telling me to wait. Management does not have a clue as to what is going on in the trenches amonth service and sales reps. They give employees grief about taking vacation if it is not planned WELL in advance - and even then if something comes up they expect you to change it. The pay scale is HORRIBLE. They do not give any chance for reviews so people can get a mid-year raise. The word BONUS is a word they apparently do not know the meaning of. Management keeps making all of these promises and ideas that sound great but then as time goes on none of them come true.
Advice to Senior Management – Recognize that without the people that work there - your company would be NOTHING - and start PAYING THEM.
