    The people are great! Never worked with such great people

    Nothing. Just maybe that it is so busy but that is job security!

    Pros

    Family friendly, senior leadership supports the value of the organization, people are great, good culture via the "personal service excellence" model

    Cons

    Pay isn't as competitive as it could be, middle management needs leadership training, anything related to HR takes forever

    Advice to Management

    Need more people in middle management roles who are good leaders and support their staff. Staff have no where to go if they're stuck with a bad leader

    Pros

    Excellent place to work, the environment overall is comfortable but professional. The benefits package is awesome, management cares about how the staff are doing and is willing to help staff in any way possible. The pay is amazing for the area, adjustments are made when review surveys suggest a pay increase is needed to remain competitive. Coworkers are awesome! Much of the staff is cross trained so if you're in a someone to help is always near!

    Cons

    For some staff like mental health workers and other support staff opportunities for advancement simply do not exist. Further training (unless you're a Nurse) is necessary to advance in some areas.

    Advice to Management

    I would suggest finding ways to make all staff feel needed and necessary not just Nurses. I realize Billings Clinic is the first to obtain Magnet Status in the state. However, Nurses are not the only employees there. It seem as though Nurses are praised, new jobs are created for Nursing specialties are discussed on a daily basis. I suggest lifting up all employees. different times throughout the year not just for a particular day or week. Nursing seems to be recognized in one way or another every day of the year.

    Great educational opportunities, strives to be the best in patient care, work/life balance, financial help with certifications and continuing education

    I can't really think of a con. I know that it's not perfect, but I was much happier there than at my new facility in a new city

    Pros

    The pay was competitive with other businesses in town. The raises were minimal, but I started decently high. I had a supervisor who respected my work ethic and was flexible with my school and work schedule.

    Cons

    I felt that HR was very protective of upper management and no one likes to rock the boat when it comes to filing legitimate complaints.

    Advice to Management

    Learn how to make your employee's job a passion so it is a joy to come to work.

    Pros

    Its a stable organization where you can work your way up through varies positions and improve yourself. For example, I started in medical records and moved into pharmacy, from there I have recieved encouragement to pursue a degree in pharmacy. Billings clinic does encourage its employees to improve themselves.

    Cons

    Right now they are really expanding too fast which is cutting the budget for the established departments right now. Its a sad day when you cant afford you office chairs or sticky notes but two new buildings are going up. However since it is the largest employer in the area the level or red tape can get kind of silly.

    Advice to Management

    Stop expecting your employees to do more with less. It should never ever take over 6 weeks to get some one hired for an entry level position. There are just too many layers of management involved in certain processes. Why have manager for departments if they are essentially powerless to do anything then communicate or work as a bridge to upper management. Why hire these people if you cant trust them?
