    Pros

    Yes you get free golf.

    Cons

they literally steal from you. When there is an outing you lose money! Gone are the tips both on and out the door. They might give you a $20 but keep almost all the gratuities added on to the bill. Uncertain hours...they cut hours and season off whenever they feel like it. They don't even have heat when its cold and heaven forbid they turn on a lamp when its dark. No feeling of team work...don't maintain their equipment and don't give you the tools to do so. If it breaks..its gone...never to be replaced. Kitchen is a filthy mess!

    Advice to Management

Get good help...you need to pay minimum of $10 per hour for outside staff and guarantee at least $50 for every outing over 50 people. Maintain your work areas and machines.

    Pros

Free golf, low pay, bad benefits.

    Cons

Pay, benefits, culture, expensive benefits contributions with no decent coverage health and benefits.

    Advice to Management

Do Mr. Billy Casper a favor and take his name off this golf management company. You are degrading his name, reputation and legacy.

    Pros

Great connections with course staff, golfing privileges, you have the opportunity for national exposure and a nice company to have on your resume.

    Cons

Nothing you do is enough or good enough. Every time the phone rings from corporate you know your about to get yelled at for something. They always look for the scapegoat.

    Advice to Management

    Hold the right people accountable.

    Pros

Professionally managed golf facility. Meaning, if the managers or workers are unethical, one can contact human resources for help. Free snacks from the pro-shop. Free golfing for employees. Human resources can save your life. When I felt harassed by management and contacted HR, they told the manager to back-off. When he didn't, that manager mysteriously and suddenly had to retire. My checks went from almost $400 down to $250 with no explanation why. I emailed HR and got a couple mysterious bonuses.

    Cons

They pay minimum wadge. Very likely to be part-time hours. In my case, less than part-time. The culture is golf-ish. If you're not a golfer, you probably will not fit in with the staff. Very strict on being on time; that's the culture of golf, be on time for your T-time. Discipline is heavy here. They write you up for anything at anytime. You must sign and date these documents whether you agree with them or not. Not a diverse work staff. Can't depend on a set schedule. Some have to close the business - leaving at 9pm and then open the park the next day at 5am. Keep in mind some position require constant running and lifting.

    Advice to Management

Although the pay is very low and all positions are easy to fill, treat every employee fair, regardless of race or if they play golf. Try to coach people into the behaviors management wants. Don't just write them up and show them you'll fire them and then sit back to watched your new disciplined into compliance employee. The depression makes it harder to follow rules.

    Pros

Fun and laid back environment. Great golf perks.

    Cons

Opportunities are scares unless you want to try your hand in the "Field". Pays lower than the market in NoVa.

    Pros

Great people to work with for the most part. Came in with great pay rate. Management was receptive to opinions about marketing, merchandise, food options, etc. from staff

    Cons

No communication between management. Senior staff were kept at their pay rate from when hired. Major harassment issue brought up to corporate, but was brushed off. No focus on customer service. Unhappy customers also brushed off unless they were a "secret shopper".

    Advice to Management

Management level: Some of your staff are older, pay them better and give them breaks. Customers should be the most important thing. Treat them well. Mystery shopper reports ruin the experience for the regular guest. Corporate level: Issues raised by your staff should be addressed. Harassment of fellow coworkers and guests should not be tolerated.

    Pros

The free golf and the ability to take time off when you want to or need to.

    Cons

Absolutely no chance of break if you work at the 1757 golf club as and outside staff member. Long hours and no gratitude for hard work. And its worse than pulling teeth to get a pay raise. The course also fails to staff enough employes for a shift.

    Advice to Management

Don't higher new staff with no prior experience and pay them more than your senior staff will prior work experience.
