I worked at Bimbo Bakeries part-time for more than a year

    Pros

As long as you had a good work ethic, you could succeed. Strategies for sales varied from store to store, but a lot of it was up to you.

    Cons

The hours were not great, you pretty much had to work through the night. Some days were definitely worse than others, such as on sales days or weekends.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Nothing bad to say, for the most part.

I have been working at Bimbo Bakeries

    Pros

The company culture. They always try to think of associates when making decisions. A lot of very good people work for BBU.

    Cons

The company is in a huge transition. After the 3 aquisitions to build the company, there is a lot of changes and transition which can cause uncertainty.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Stop working in silo's. Too many iniatitives all happening at the same time and not enough coordination. The left hand doesn't always know what the right hand is doing.

I have been working at Bimbo Bakeries

    Pros

Associates are a great group of people and if you are disciplined, you can have a decent work/life balance
    Flexible time-off policy

    Cons

Depending on your position, the work load may require you to work evenings and some weekends. But, again, if you are disciplined you can make it work.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Continue to recruit talent that can back fill the current senior leadership team

I worked at Bimbo Bakeries full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

    Pay is decent, good benefits,

    Cons

Management is too wishy washy. They don't communicate and they have very selective memory when you do tell them stuff. No advancement unless you are one of the chosen few.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

You should be more open and honest with the employees. You should listen to what they have to say. You should also not rate employees on what they can do to make you look good.

Good if you want little oversight and steady part-time pay

I worked at Bimbo Bakeries part-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

    low oversight
    good union pay
    Paid time off

    Cons

    lack of direction
    early mornings
    no feeling of community

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Involve even your part time employees! When they have no vested stake in the company or the job they are doing they are bound to not perform well!

I have been working at Bimbo Bakeries full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Benefits, pay starts out high, free bread and doughnuts

    Cons

Long hours, no vacation until a year of working and you only get 1 week, no sick days, point system, They are always cutting people and we are constantly short handed. I do not recommend you work here if u tend to miss days occasionally or want to enjoy your life for that matter. There also is no growth there some people have been their for 17 years and haven't even moved up in anyway shape or form.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Hire the amount of people that is needed and stop trying to give people more than 8 hours of work.to complete on a daily basis and get mad when we have to stay over and get paid overtime.
