    Pros

    umm. there aren't any

    Cons

the money is good if you get a huge top dollar route, good luck. everything is pinned on the route operator. it doesnt matter if they short your product or if you short order the product it is always your fault. they treat you as if you are completly independent from the company but want all the managerial control that they can handle. the route operator is responsible for every expense of a small business ie, labor(days off), operating expenses(gas, truck, tires ect), insurance, route payment. the list goes on and on. you never get a day off, sick time, raises, bonuses because its "your business". dont do it they will screw you in an heartbeat take all your money and run you off. they will cut your throat like they slice their bread.

I have been working at Bimbo Bakeries full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

Great benefits, 401k, bonus, company car, product freebies, management with 15+ years with company, great solid brads, quality the best, good distribution system, great computer software and resources.

    Cons

Re Org not shared with middle management. Frozen salary increases for past 3 yrs, just typical inflation %, barely any vacation and holidays, poor teamwork, tons of management turnover, aging management lacks initiative and fresh ideas, management does not believe in product training, its too political, HR just follows directions thus not pro employee, old depots, lack of privacy to do office work. You have to wait one year at job before asking to move to another area or position internally.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Train salesmen and drivers on product knowledge. Be open with future job openings so others can apply.

I have been working at Bimbo Bakeries full-time (more than 10 years)

    Pros

Over all a good company that promotes local initiatives. They don't generally push down directives from the top. As long as you produce and are a self starter the organization takes care of you.

    Cons

As they have continued to grow in size the ability to make rapid changes has seriously been slowed down. They always prided themselves on making rapid and concise direction changes to stay ahead of the competition.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Need more managers on the street actively working with their routes and customers. Reduce the amount of people in Horsham.

    Friendly people, cafe on site

    Cons

Upper management not good at setting goals or planning - vague, undefined company direction

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Too many cooks spoil the pot! Set direction for your department/area and impose consequences for those that refuse to follow. End the wild west mentality.

    Pros

Great Company, Pay, Good atmosphere of quality workers. The Biggest bread company in south america and can pretty much guarantee a stable position.

    Cons

Hard to move up from regular employee into management and senior management positions. The management team only seems to say anything when a problem occurs besides that it just Thanks for doing your job.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Motivate employees by paying compliments for the hard work done and give better feedback on how were performing as a team and individually.

    Pros

Long time employee that came from original Arnold Foods Co and Best Foods, paid very well. Company car was a nice perk. Pension was frozen, but there was matching 401K benefits. NO work life balance, expected to be on call 24/7.

    Cons

Horrible local management. Anyone below Diector level, just a number. Claims to be a "deeply humane" company, empty statement. Rudder less management.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Value your human resources, versus abuse.

    Cons

company got too big through acquisitions and eliminated many good union jobs in the process.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

concentrate on increasing market shares by promoting good brands, quality, and service instead of trying to buy out the competition.this is not mexico! We have monopoly laws in this country!!!
