There are times when it is necessary to work long hours or come in on the weekends to ensure the success of an ongoing project.

I think the management does a fantastic job of acclimating new employees to the company as well as mentoring those who are new to the field. P

Great direct management who genuinely care about you and the doctors and patients we serve. The benefits are amazing and did not fully realize how great they were until leaving.

Cons

Difficult to advance if living in a smaller metro area. They also have a lot of meetings, but the meetings do provide good updates.

Continue building the culture that cares about the employees and the people we serve. This is a great company that is driven by its culture.

Upper management doesn't care enough about the people who work for them. If you have a problem, you're on your own. Was lied to by direct manager more than once.

Start being more in tune with what is going one with the people who support you. Keep an open door policy and be honest with your team.

I have a very profesional superviser, always has time for my trainig and reviews. great interpersonal skills. But Biogen idec should think of hiring perms, not to lose good profesionals

Spend more time listening to employees

Pros

When working with the employees the are great, they share information they really appreciate the information you impart to them.

Cons

Management has no idea what-so-ever as to what is going on.
They complain about things they are actually the root cause of.
When you have a discussioin about a timeline which has a bearing on the conversation, they have no idea of what has happened when.
They ask you a question, you answer it and then they accuse you of being defensive.

Advice to Senior Management

Stop thinking you are automatically smarter than your employees just because you are paid more than them. That's Sr. Management's fault, not the employee's. Sr. Management needs to start emparting information to the employees (not just management) if you want people to pull in the same direction.

The company does great work for sick people, then need to start acting like a good company, not just say they are.

I enjoyed working at biogen idec. Great people good food to eat. I am really proud to make the medicine.

the hours are no fun. I also dont like how long the wait is to move up in the company.

He is doing the best he can do. Biogen is growing and as long as that keeps happening while we pump out good product I cant complain.

Fantastic work environment, it is a very collaborative environment that thrives on team work. Work environment is very positive, productive, and friendly.

It is difficult to commute between offices for meetings. Not as much interaction between various teams within the company as there could be.
